it seemed to be detected, but the menu loading time is way too long…
it just get stuck on the loading screen…
ok new problem.i've reformatted my hdd but it shows 221:hdd not formatted.
yes it can access hdl normally, but still shows unformatted when using oplBut can the HDPro version of HDLoader still access the HDD?
If yes, then I don't know why our open-source module is so unstable... but here is a new file with the design differences corrected. It should be as close as possible to the original HDPro driver.
If not, then perhaps your HDD was not formatted correctly.
If the new HDPro driver is of reasonable quality (best case: if it works reliably), then I will push the changes to the PS2SDK repository.
it still shows "221 unformatted"…Okay, please try this. There seems to be a mistake in the original HDPro driver, whereby the result of PollEventFlag is checked, regardless of the return value of PollEventFlag. It is possible that this incorrect behaviour is now resulting in different effects because our module is different (and hence the stack contents is different).
it went back to 400.Okay, how about this one? I realized that the APA driver (HDD.IRX) requires DEV9 to be loaded, but OPL does not load DEV9 if it loads the HDPro driver.
Im impressed how much you know the PS2 @sp193
have you planned to write a MAKEMEASANDWICH.IRX driver ? :P
it went back to 400.
cannot show up the games list. i was thought that thing is configuration error and delete the config file then restart it the screen goes black.I wish I could, but sadly my magic stops short of that.
In all seriousness though, it's because I have been working on the internals for a long time. But on the other hand, this means that I don't exactly know much about the frontend aspects like GS or SPU2 programming.
Sorry, I made a mistake with the PS2SDK commits (I was also trying to help other people with clone/compatible network adaptors).
Please try this new file.
WinHIIP. I can't boot again…even i switched back on my ps2There is some improvenent, at least! Since all modules can now be loaded, the problem is further down.
I am currently away for work matter at the moment, so I have no further tests for you until tonight.
How do you install games onto your HDD?
Were you able to get OPL to at least boot again? Even if the games cannot be listed.
If not, have you tried switching off your PlayStation 2 before switching it back on?
Okay, when you wrote that you deleted your configuration file, did you delete mc:/OPL? If you did not, maybe you can move or delete that folder.
Glad to hear that you used WinHIIP.
EDIT: Other than the problem that OPL seems to have with sometimes not booting (under certain conditions), I don't know what else we can try... so I made a custom version of LaunchELF that uses the homebrew HDPro driver.
With it, we can get some more technical information. Like whether it can identify your HDD correctly (i.e. whether it is connected and its capacity) and the partitions on it.
Please boot this version of LaunchELF and go to MISC -> HDD Manager. If everything is fine, then you should see that the HDD is connected, is formatted and you can see a list of partitions on the disk.
