PS2 OPL doesn't load GT4/ gets stuck on black screen

Any progress yet? I can't play GT4 in my PS2 console with OPL 1.2.0 (all 6 mode are on and tried all sort of combination mode). When i tried with OPL v1.1.0 it works fine, but i want to use Exfat format in my external HDD so i don't have to deal with 4gb maks file and UsbUtil kinda thing, just plain simple drag & drop ISO file to DVD folder. Or can i set where PS2 mass would read my external HDD partition, so that i can have 2 partition in one external HDD (one is Fat32 & the other Exfat) but when i used both OPL version 1.1 & 1.2 it only read the Fat32 partition. I want when i used OPL v1.1 it reads Fat32 partition and when i used OPL v1.2 it reads the Exfat partition. Any chance?

To clarify, the game does work on OPL. Even the older versions.

If you don't want to have to split it, maybe consider using the DVD5 ripkit. It is a simple ripkit that helps you to take your GT4 ISO and trim it down so to speak. There are tools alongside it like PSS Plex that down-sample PSS videos contained in the VOL file located on the second layer. The ripkit itself patches the ELF file to run the GT VOL from the second layer and renames it GT4L1.VOL.

The key to get it work right, because most of the time I used it the game failed to work right, is to first, AFTER the PSS down-sampling, is to rebuild the new VOL file with the smaller videos. THEN patch the SCUS/SCES or what ever ELF file with the tool.

It does work when i tried with OPL v1.1 using external HDD (Fat32 format). Not v1.2 tho. The thing is i want v1.2 to work with external HDD (Exfat format). 'Note I'm using FMCB.'

Elaborate please, i don't know anything you said. Sound kinda complicated but if there a chance it would work with my FMCB OPL v1.2 USB External HDD (Exfat format) worth a shot.

NVM. I just use OPL v1.2.0-Beta-2082-c27f3 (currently latest in 12 April 2024) AND IT WORKED!. Just like i wanted, OPL v1.2 that support Exfat and running GT4. Thanks tho for helping. I just got insight from previous reply that he/she or whatever is it, tried with different beta version OPL v1.2.0. So i was trying to check all the beta version of OPL v1.2.0 and nailed it with the first try, the latest one. Don't know what version i was using but it was OPL v1.2.0 but not sure what beta version it was and its displaying endless black screen after Copyright screen.

Anyone had an issue there the controller just stopped responding at the language selection screen ? Was it because of the OPL version or some modes must be enabled ?
