PS2 OPL Manager Change Game ID

Hi all,
I need help about OPL manager. I build an SSD disk with various winning eleven patched version of the game. I would like to have a different memory card for each patch. For example, I have Winning Eleven 10 2025 patch and Winning Eleven 10 Original Season: I would like to have two different Virtual Memory Card, one per game. To do this I need to change the game ID but I cannot do that. Anyone can help me?
Thanks in advance.

If the game is stored on a BDM device (like USB, exFAT HDD, MX4SIO), you can just rename the ISO to a custom game ID and use the "custom ELF" option in the OPL game settings to point to the real game ID (=executable in the ISO).

If the game is on a APA HDD, the only option so far I know of is to change the game ID in the ISO. For some games (I did it for SingStar) it's just as simple as using a Hex editor (like HxD), search for the game ID and change them to a custom one.

I tried to change the game id using a hex editor (I found only 1 occurrence: is it possible?) but when I reload OPL manager it cannot recognize the game anymore and I cannot edit its metadata to add it to the list.
Can you better explain the first option your mentioned? I'm setting up an exFAT SSD drive so it could be applicable.

I don't know if the hex editor method work for all games. I only tried it with SingStar.

The other method is just change the game ID in the filename of the ISO.

For example for "Endgame" normally the filename is like "SLES_509.36.Endgame.iso". Change it to like "SLES_999.01.Endgame.iso" and put "SLES_509.36" in the custom ELF field of the game options (select the game in OPL, press triagle, select Game Settings and there's a field "Custom ELF"). Save the settings and OPL should have a config file for SLES_999.01 with it's own VMC settings.
