Original PS3 Gameboot & Sounds [4.80 - 4.86 CFW ONLY]

PS3 Original PS3 Gameboot & Sounds [4.80 - 4.86 CFW ONLY] 1.01

oh, I didn't know the fonts were different. the post in @LuanTeles pro thread -- the post I made is phatboy slim. it's kinda hard to read, which is why I reverted back.

Yeah the font on the PS3 Phats and Original game case's is Homoarakhan aka Spider Man font and then when the Slim was launched they changed to the other font on the Slim and SuperSlim as well as the games cases.

The PS4 seems to use "The Rave is in your Pants" font on the console and games case's.

Probably is a logo made with vectors btw... i mean, not a font but a "drawing", and they ordered the design to some graphic company

The "unnofficial" fonts we have availables are the ones you mentioned, both seems to be the same btw, it seems someone renamed it

https://www.dafont.com/spiderman.font?text=phatboy+slim
https://www.dafont.com/spiderman.font?text=Homoarakhan
https://www.dafont.com/spiderman.font?text=playstation+3

eh...? the links are all of the same font lol.....Homoarakhan.... all you did was type Phat boy Slim and Homoarakhan in the custom font preview bar lol. , which shows you a preview of a word using that font, the font search bar is above that one in the top right of the page....

I have them both installed on my PC and use Phat Boy Slim on my PS3's. They look nothing a like....

You might have to zoom in abit on the image....
This one is a better veiw of the font....

PhatboySlim2.png

As you can see the two fonts, Homoarakhan and Phatboy Slim, are nothing a like. Nothing has been renamed as they are 2 totally different fonts.

@Cypher_CG89.....do you remember the black wave without the sparkles you made? .... can you edit the brightness and color of the wave exactly as in this picture?

Should be able to... all that looks like is the wave I gave you but with less transparancey.... I will try to do it sometime today if I get a chance...

Hmm, right, i had a mess while using the search box in dafont.com :)

If I remember rightly, I did the same thing when first using that site to look for some some fonts to use and customize for some of the graphical things I like to mess about with eg custom xmb game posters to use with PS3 games instead of the og ones. Even changing the MP and Zombies maps loading screen posters in the game with custom ones with custom fonts.

I must of entered loads of font names in there before I realised what I was doing lol.... thinking WhyTF is this not working...??

Also with that site if you don't enter the font name your searching for correctly it won't bring up any results.. pretty crap search function if you ask me so say for phat boy font you must enter "Phatboy Slim" exactly or it brings up 0 results..... 1001fonts is a better site to use and for fonts from movie titles, etc use famousfonts website to get fonts like COD, Star Wars etc....

Alright..just do it when you have free time.

@Cypher_CG89...when you have some time, can you adjust the black wave you made like this one I'm leaving here? ... They were taken from the old firmware (2.17 and 2.51 ) so it is not possible for me to use them directly, it may be possible to set the animation and colors of the current wave using the same color and animation settings as the old ones.

Nope, 1 small edit to one of the files inside the lines.qrc file and it will disable the sparks for the wave your using.

I will use the settings in this one and transfer them to the one I made for you when I get time. I am just a bit busy atm with other things.

Not to mention the amount of work required, this takes time
Now we can see the settings they was using in the MNU files, but is not a matter of copypasting them... or well it is... but with the actual tools availables is a pita to copy everything
And probably you are going to hit with several problems because settings that existed but doesnt exist in 4.84 or the other way around

Also, the way how the ambient colors affects the wave is a bit unknown, they are posting that screenshot where the wave can be seen a bit blueish, but that color changes by:
-months of the year
-hour of the day
-etc... (im not really sure how many things could affect the wave color)

The good thing is in that screenshot it can be seen the clock with the date ;)
So... you can change your time and date in your PS3 to match with the screenshot and try to use the look of the screenshot as a reference

If you start doing all this research/experiments, please explain in public your experience while dealing with it :)

Yeah sometimes it can be a simple few edits, compile, test and your done> I highly doubt this will be the case with a waves file from such a low FW version.

I have already looked into some of the old waves from pre 3.00 fw's a while back and quite a few things are different, things have been added, some thing removed and replaced. The basics for the waves is pretty much the same. So what I should of said was copy what I can from the older wave over to a newer one.

But to be honest this looks exactly the same as the one I already made but with a slight difference in the waves colour and transparancy, but I have a feeling getting this one right migh be more than few few edits, compiles and tests. The good thing is is thats only a couple of seconds to extract every file> MNUs, TARGA's, pngs and such and only a couple of seconds to compile them into the lines.qrc.

Its the testing, editing stuff that takes the biscuit... And I already know from past experiments what damage you can do to your PS3 if you go too far with them when I nearly perma bricked one of my Slims with a lines.qrc file> And that was doing exactly the same as what is needed to be done here ... combining old with new ... at least I learned a few things from that ...

The link that @Danxx444 posted has a wave on that I made with no sparks except for on boot of game or apps as it was made to be like pre 2.80 fw but the backround is all black everywhere, even if you change your theme settings background colour it will not change it as I removed all the monthly background colours.

Btw, what are you using to compile the custom lines.qrc @Cypher_CG89 ?

Brunolee's PS3 Waves Tool v0.2 .... it was like a wild goose chase to find a valid DL link for this tool, and now I cannot remeber where I got it from lol. It make's things way simpler and quicker to make cutom waves.

EDIT:
Also there is a limit to which lines.qrc file's it can extract irrc, some really low fw ones it will not do and it gives "This is not a valid lines file" error.

So them one have to be edited the pain in the arse ways.... as the tool is looking for specificly named files and folders and these are not present in the lower FW lines.qrc files.

I cannot remember exactly how low of a version of lines.qrc the limit is though. I cannot find the note's I made on them lol.

Ok, i was asking just incase you was using something way better
But yeah, that tools has limitations and room for errors, is needed to double check everything

Here is the new wave... sparks only appear during the gameboot....NO startup sparks, user select sparks, XMB sparks, music player sparks or any other visable sparks until you boot an app or game. I might make a few more small alterations in the future...
Sorry by revive the topic. So now just copy under lines.qrq? No brick risk at copy on 4.85 cfw?

No it won't brick your PS3.... just put the folder on a USB, open MultiMAN, find enable dev_blind, then go to filemanger, find the zip folder on your usb, open it and you should get a message saying "Do you wish to install zip..?", select yes, once done restart your PS3 from the option in multiman.

EDIT: For a beter explanation just follw the same steps I give to install the gameboot for this resource, its exactly the same procedure to install this lines.qrc file.
