Is not needed to modify the sprx to enable the gameboot dude, you could see it and you said it days ago, only with my custom_render_plugin.rco in HEN you had both the coldboot and gameboot animation from firmware 1.00 working fine, exactly like the originals
At this point it seems the patch in the sprx is required only to enable the gameboot audio

The sprx only works with HEN enabled because is resigned unnofficially

My mistake ... I forgot to say enable audio
 
Some days ago i mentioned in your thread that i had the hope that the gameboot sonds could be enabled simply because the anim_gameboot contains some of the <fireEvent>... that are a reference to some chunk of code inside the sprx
I was thinking maybe that code inside the sprx loaded by the <FireEvent> could enable the gameboot sound

Or just because the fact the animation that is loaded is named "anim_gameboot". Just because the name "anim_gameboot" is a hardcoded codename
The firmware could have some setting somewhere that it could tell... "if anim_gameboot = enable sounds"


But i been messing around with something latelly :rolleyes: and at this point i can say that this is mostly imposible... because the sounds are loaded waaaaaay before than the animations info inside custom_render_plugin.rco

To be more precise... in the coldboot the sound starts around 2.5 seconds before the rco animation
In both, the coldboot from 1.00 and 4.85 ...both does the same trick with the sound ... and both have a similar lenght
The coldboot sound is 10 seconds... but the coldboot animation is around 5 seconds lenght

Long story short... what i said was wrong... now i think is imposible to enable gameboot sounds by modifying custom_render_plugin.rco
 
If you mean the original gameboot then yes it works on 4.85 CFW. The waves files (lines.qrc) that are dotted about the thread will work as well. There is also a Slim Style Gameboot I did as well which still works on 4.85 CFW.

I just haven't updated my thread to say it still works on 4.85 CFW as I want to add a few things to both the Original and Slim Style gameboot version I did before I do.

Here are 2 more lines.qrc files....

Colour Select (No Particles).zip > This is basically the OFW wave with no particles anywhwere, so you can still select the background colour from the Theme menu as normal and the backgrounds will change from month to month like normal.

All Black (No Particles).zip > This is the OFW wave with no particles anywhere and the background is all black with no monthly colour change so it will stay black all the time, you can still choose a side menu colour from the theme menu as normal but thats it, the background stays black perminantly.

These zip files contian the PS3~dev_blind.zip for install as when you download the other one from the other post the ~ in the file name gets changed to _ which breaks the self install function.

So extract these on your PC first before putting them on USB and put the dev_blind zips in appropriatly named folders on your USB drive so you don't get confused as to which is which as both the dev_blind zips are named the same but install the same way that is detailed in this thread > enter multiMAN, enable dev_blind, click on zip, reboot.

In fact if you use webMAN MOD you can set it to mount dev_blind on boot of the PS3 then you don't need to enable dev_blind in MulitMAN as its already been done prior to entering MultiMAN> This is how I have it set up anyways and is easy to check as when you select PS3 Root in MultiMANs File Manager you will see dev_blind listed as one of the folders there.

EDIT: These will work on CFW or HEN ( Info for anyone reading this and wants to try them )
I'm sorry but I didn't have time to answer you. I tested both and both are with the black wave. Didn't you make a mistake when hosting the files? So apart from the colors that I couldn't get to be original, the rest is amazing! Particles nowhere!

I know this thread is cold for quite some time now but I just installed rebug on 4.85 and I wanted to ask if this mod works with this version or if there is a newer version that is compatible with 4.85?

As far as i know, someone mentioned it works for 4.85 as well, so no need to worry about it.

Modifying the gameboot does not give you a brick, rest assured, i am sure this will work for 4.85 as 4.84 and 4.85 have the same firmware entry, you can try it without worrying about it, if it doesn't work, you can always reinstall the CFW, but that won't be necessary.

As I said I am pretty new to this only did this on Nintendo consoles before wich I found much easier

You cannot brick your PS3 with this mod. Nothing has changed in this file from 4.84 to 4.85. It work's, infact the SPRX used in this mod is from FW version 4.81.

I just cannot be bothered to go through the read me's, install instructions and add 4.85 to them, then do all the hash checks again then re-upload basically the same mod that has not changed, I don't see the point in it. I might change the info in the thread and title but that would be about it.

I loaded the file for you. you must throw it in the coldboot folder and delete the coldboot because it appears on the screen together with the .RAF file I don't remember who made this mod with the original logo but it was here on the forum. sorry for not giving the credits.

Edit: I forgot to mention, I don't know if it works in 4.86. I'm at 4.85.[emoji17]
