PS2 PlayStation 2 Identification Tool

If it is not a chipped console (preferably not) and PS2Ident generates a database file (*_database.bin), then please do. Otherwise, the model was already recorded.

I think some of those with datecode 8C and ROM v2.20 are P-chassis. Well, it has been that way... until we found a few counter-examples (R-chassis with ROM v2.20). I wrote the chassis model can still be used as a rough indicator because the datecodes are not printed on every PS2 from all regions.

Alright! THX for the info (that there are 8C P-Chassis)! I am just curious, because I've got an R-Chassis with an older DateCode (8B) than some P-Chassis with DateCode 8C! I've NEVER seen that before and I got my hands on it by pure accident in my own city, lol! :D
That indicates, that they produced both chassis simultaneously, for a while... The combination is still pretty seldom tho'... DateCode 8B + BOOT-ROM 2.20 (those two alone, o.k. but...) + R-Chassis :'-D

Alright! I will upload it, once I am at home!

Oh! ...and it has never been opened before (NoMod)!

Only Sony has a very clear understanding of what they actually made. If you actually have consoles like that, then you actually have a very clear answer to your own question.
If you did not have such consoles, then please take what I wrote with a pinch of salt because I only go by what I am aware of - and I have been quite out of touch in this topic.

It could be that they were finishing up the stock of old parts.

To make the data useful for PS2Ident, you will also have to provide the mainboard model number as well.

Well... Here is the dump, made with PS2Ident 0.835 and about opening it... Well... I didn't want to, but I can do that... :-|

I suppose you need the Mainboard-number (GH-XXX)?!

If I open it, I can make some more pictures straight away and attach then as well. ;)

Edit: Going to upload the dump, please wait.

Maybe also I can somehow help.
My chassis model for Satin Silver phat SCPH-50004 is "I".
I think that I send my DUMP before, If not I can also provide it from latest v0.835.
However I do not want to open it my console to look for mainboard model.
Previously I almost "kill" SCPH-39004...

Anyway, it's almost end of a 2018 and the front-page looks like that:

Almost all the news are about PS2 scene.
