Point a n00b in the right direction?

I'm a network engineer by trade, and I haven't modded a console since I installed hack chips in my original xbox some 15 years ago. I have successfully run the xploit patch and am now on the Ferrox 4.82.1 firmware (well, I see the Ferrox logo when I boot my console now, but when I do a look in system info it says 4.82).

I've been reading a lot of these threads and there is a bunch of terminology that I don't understand and I simply need to educate myself.

Can someone please provide me with some good links to get my head grounded on PS3 modding? I've googled a lot and unfortunately the majority of hits are just youtube crap.

That is normal in system info. that is all it will display.
You have Ferrox installed.
