Problem regarding HEN, PS2 ISOs, and a new hard drive

I said in a previous thread that I was gonna replace my PS3s' stock HDDs with new 500GB HDDs. I did, and I was able to re-mod them and get them back to the way things were before.

Except for one problem I just stumbled upon today.

I decided to convert some of my PS2 ISOs to be playable on PS3HEN again. I remembered everything I had to do to make them work correctly, and when I installed the games and tested one of them, they ran fine. But when I re-enabled HEN after quitting the game (because for some reason I have to do that every time I play a PS2 game this way), the system freezes, and the only way to turn it off is to cut the power. The first time it happened, I disregarded it because stuff happens sometimes. But then I tested another PS2 game, and the exact same thing happened again!

I don't like this. Any idea what's wrong? I hope it's not the hard drive, because PS2 games worked fine on my PS3 before I switched out the hard drives.

To quickly check your harddrive for errors, plug it into your pc (do not initialize it) and check s.m.a.r.t. values using software like CrystalDiskInfo.
 
Not tru m8. I am using one currently and the SSD is 2 years old. Normal speed But quieter. If you want cheap storage go with HDD, only go with SSD if its a spare or you're willing tot shovel out some money
