PS3 Project RSX Boost: Overclock your Retail PS3 RSX Speeds (ps3 cfw only)

Yep, PS3 was a nightmare for devs and some of them were probably a bit lazy on top of that. Unfortunately, OC can't save every game.
Unfortunately. So far the OC we have is much much better than stock by many miles. But until we can get a nice stable CPU OC, we won't have fully utilized the best the PS3 can do. Hope the cpu OC is possible soon. I'm coping.

I really don't think it's laziness since no developer goes around thinking: "Let's release a shit product." It's mostly time constraints, deadlines and skill. You have to really know what you are doing when working with the PS3.

That was so easy to see on Linux. The PS3 is unable to run any desktop environment properly while using something like Firefox to browse the web. It takes multiple minutes to load a website and it's really damn slow.
We have community projects struggling to run something like Quake II properly on the system.

why is that? is it basically just newer chip = better production quality or newer lifespan of the chip itself? the later your Slim model was released, the higher OC you could potentially use?
Manufacturing quality usually increases during production length (allowing higher clocks and lower power consumption on PC products for example). In a console you usually just see the better power consumption.

So I tested my second 2501A slim. It was manufactured July. It can do only 700/900 fully stable zero issues on all games. My 1st 2501A manufacture of November of 2010, mind your both are 2010. But my November model does 750/950 fully stable zero issues On all games. So yes. Manufacture date plays a big role. That's why the other guys 2011 slim does 800/1000 fully stable. It fully checks out. Meaning his mode will be the most wanted PS3 Slim of all. Cause it can handle 800/1000 easily with zero issues. The chips kept getting better and better as time went by. Until the super slim can be fully cracked. His 2011 model will be the best for OC.

Yep, the consoles with the biggest chances for a high overclock will be the CECH-25XX consoles produced shorty before Sony patched the fail0verflow exploit, that allows CFW.

Finding those last versions are impossible for me. I've looked and can't find them online. It's easy to find 2010 models but the 2011 models are sooo rare.

Hey guys, this is my very first post, I hope everyone is well. I've been following for quite sometime, I have a CHECH 2504B and currently running 4.91.2 OC 700/1000 and haven't experienced anything weird so far. I am currently testing gt6

I have a 2011 model from the Black Ops bundle. I think it was manufactured either in February or March that year.

I would be interested in testing out but the risk of bricking my console is concerning lol. Hopefully once more testing is complete there can be an official CFW release.

No one should attempt 850. I smell a brick coming. If you're lucky, it will be causing artifacts instantly. So it's not stable. Did you see my other comment? I tried both my 2501A PS3s 1 did 700/900 stable and the other 750/950. And those are the highest stable I can do. With zero artifacts, crashes or other issues.

I've never looked at OC, if OC is nothing more than Lv1poke, you can add that poke into Cobra payload and toggle via flag so you can toggle OC that way.

AFAIK, even if we find a way to poke the Lv1 (Aldo said that there isn't even a pattern to search there to poke it) , the values are already loaded and we still don't have a way to reload the lv1 for them to take effect.

Hi, I also have a cech 2501a from November 2010

Would it be possible for you to send me the pup so I can test it and share the results?

I posted the links few posts ago, feel free to test and be aware of the risks

@haxxxen, I just fixed my PC. Now it's the first time I'm using MFW Builder.

So, I'm trying to patch the latest Evilnat 4.91.2 Beta 6. Do I just need to check the "Patch Lv1 for RSX overclock" and leave the others as they are, right?

OFC i need to check the 4.xx CEX base firmware as well.

BTW, do you have the ps3keys folder aready with 4.90/4.91 ones? i'm lazy to copy/rename them :P

So i need to uncheck the "Sign isoleted modules(s) with iso_rebuilder" and "Sign self/sprx(s) with self rebuilder" right?

Can you add a warning on these two option, AFAIK you told me using it on OFW is fine, but not on CFW.

Or maybe a check can added, to disable those if a CFW is detected.

Ok, I've been testing Infamous for 20 minutes now and no apparent bugs

750-950

Please send me ur lv1 in DM and your PS3 model
