PS3 Project RSX Boost: Overclock your Retail PS3 RSX Speeds (ps3 cfw only)

to unlock the framerate in The Last of Us (v1.11) search for 1571A6F and change the byte 02 (30fps) to 01 (60fps) or 00 (unlocked)
for Uncharted 2 (v1.09) search for E9C1FB and change the byte 02 (30fps) to 01 (60fps) or 00 (unlocked)
about Uncharted 1 and 3 I don't know the address and values.

On the little test I did with the 700/900 overclock on Uncharted 2 I was getting anything between 36 to 60 with an average of high 40s (47fps iirc) in that chapter with Drake and Flynn.

I think we should make a Thread about 60 FPS patches!

We definitely should!
I have a list of the ones that worked on my PS3. also marked the ones that work but have bugs or speed problems associated. I can't make the unlocks work on Unreal Engine 3 based games since they require the vblank value change.

It would be good to find the "ultimate GPU benchmark" game, aka one in which the FPS increases the most from an OC. Crysis3 seems like good candidate, if the original CrysisHD can also be FPS unlocked it would suffice too. Anything without any cutscenes hells ideally.

God of War: Ascension is a good title to test the Overclocks.

I've thoroughly tested it across all frequencies.

At stock settings, it runs at 37 FPS., while when OC'ed to 900/1000, it could hit 60 FPS (Tested in the same scene) . For every 50MHz increment (Core or Memory), there was a notable 2-4 FPS improvement in this game.

Hell yes. We need a thread only for game unlocking settings. So many games can benefit from unlocks.

Ok but how do we do this?

I swear this is one of the best games I've played in my life plus packs all perfomance and a constant FPS!! :) Nothing so far, no crash. Zero artifacts amd I'm running 750/1000(2504B)Let me resume lol Yakuza zero can wait :) :) people who played the game may I please see feedback on how it's holding

Final game I'm testing for you guys then I'll check from time to time for anything new. But my final verdict will be after completing the game

Just picked up another cheap 2501A from October 2010. This one is different. The Wifi and Bluetooth plugs are blue instead of gold in my last one. The RSX is a CXD5300CGB I assume it will be worse versus my -GGB in the Sep2010 one. Strange!

hi guys i want to let you know that i did not see any performance difference on 700/700 either on my 2101B ps3 slim however after i installed the CFW i noticed that at some point maybe it was ablet to go into a semi brick due to that when i tried to do the process of check scanning for any errors on it the ps3 got freezed up, after a powercycle it responded again and after that i was able to play with no issues but it was weird that it did not do that yesterday on 650/800 but on 700/700 maybe it was a limitation on the GPU frequency instead on the vram one, on this case i will remain on standard OC frequencies to have a better performance on most games, thanks a lot for the support on it, i hope that something great will come out for these tests for sure

I Tried Up to 650/850 Mhz Speed, There Was No Problem, Last I Tried at 650/900, Distortions Occurred. The problem is related to temperature, I don't understand. My PS3 Model is 2004a
Brother, do you have the opportunity to do it this way?
650/875
675/875
675/900
700/750
700/800

Ist that Beta 8??? there is nothing named.
Yes, I just forgot to precise it in the name of the file.

I swear this is one of the best games I've played in my life
Truly a gem, the gameplay is just excellent. In fact, everything is excellent in this game.

As I said, we can't do 25MHz increments on core but for VRAM/memory it's ok.
I take note of that !

Aaand the video is out !
I hope that everything is clear, making tutorials isn't my speciality :y

Okay guys I've been thinking, how about we take at least three of pups that work and won't on different games? Maybe if you know Crysis is best with 700/950 you flash it and play only games that are stable at that specific OC then change again to accommodate OC of big or lesses games? I can see OCs don't run the same at all games some may handle a certain tune, some may not.

Thoughts everyone? Until we can change the OC frequencies via xai plugin which would be awesome!!

I'll make an example of myself 750/1000 is stable on most games but funny today I did not get any crushes from it, then my fine tune is 750/975 and 700/1000

Does it matter the beta for the pup files? I'm still testing with beta 5 which I've downloaded all the files for.

also, I think I read someone said they experienced a black screen from a too high OC and they quickly pulled the plug and were able to go into recovery mode before it could get any worse. Would it be wise to be on guard and stay close to the outlet in case something like that were to happen? Or was it just luck that he could stop it in time?
