PS button on third party controller doesn't work in recovery mode. Therefore I Can't install HFW.

I already installed han a year or so ago. Thought I would upgrade to hen with the official guide here. Problem is I have third party controllers and the PS button does not work in recovery mode. So now I have lost all han functionality and in addition cant get HFW to work. Is there any way to bipass this problem or do I just have to buy an official controller to get functionality back.

It is a wired controler made by biogenik
 
you can shouldnt have to reinstall hfw to move from han to hen. latest hen supports 4.84+ so may not need to update. just use "Enable HAN ReWrite Flash" and install full hen pkg.

if you formatted for some reason, borrow a controller from a friend (even a different third party one - some do work).

BTW if its a wireless controller you still have to plug it in the whole time.

Thanks for the response. The problem is I just followed the guide from the beginning and the first thing it said to do was update to HFW 4.86. So now that I have done that I don't have the han toolbar or functions anymore. So I guess the only solution is buying a new controller? Do you know which one I could buy that is cheap? Sorry, I dont understand how I could enable han rewrite flash now?

if hfw actually installed, just goto **ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new) and use one of the installers under ps3hen menu (first two entries).

i dont know which controllers work (there are a lot of off-brands). ive been lucky to have two or three different ones that worked fine.

Sorry, I meant that I updated OFW to 4.86 as per the guide. I cant install HFW because of the ps button not working in recovery mode.
 
I did and it seems that is has worked. Sorry about that I was just scared to try anything different than what is official in the guide. Everything seems great now. Thanks again!
