I suppose that's especially interesting to those close to the border of Germany, but maybe we see the thing emerge for that price at MediaMarkt and Saturn, wherever there is one!

If it continues that way, we will see the PS Classic in stores like LIDL! Mind you, LIDL (a German company as well) already did sell/have sold these kind of retro-consoles (SEGA) and even cheaper than anyone else!

Walmart and Bestbuy have it for 40$ now! That's like 35€, but doesn't include tax AFAIK.

Why not? Look at the amount of apps and the BT, GPS and WiFi-Drivers possibly could be disassembled for use with the mods (BleemSync, AutoBleem, etc.).

You got a point, but I prefeer to have an android box or a Raspberry Pi over running android over a gaming console.

Because this is useless junk at this moment and cannot even properly emulate PSX games. :P Android open gate to many quite good emulators, and this hardware is not so weak as many state. The problem is launcher which isn't designed to desktop like experience (even RemixOS wouldn't be handy here). Also problem are drivers and secured bootloader (if there is any, idk).
 
BleemSync, AutoBleem and Retroarch are quite neat, IMO. ;)

Edit: Like @Berion said. The hardware isn't as weak as it sounds.

There are currently MANY software-based limitations. You can see that, even via comparing the custom and the original PCSX-ReARMed-Version! ;)

Even thought the current mods are all really quite cool, they are just a/the beginning! This probably will be the better Ouya!

Android 9.0 would technically work and isn't toooo far off.

I want to buy it few weeks ago but when I did little research quickly gave up. It is not worth any time and effort to hack, not for that price (personally I wouldn't pay more than 15$ for it, seriously, and only because I love this... case :D).

Besides ART optimizations, v9.0 doesn't offer nothing important for such console. Could be even v4.1.x (I even still have phone on Jelly Bean ;p).

BTW: Can I use PBP? I mean the real PBP, not forged by homebrew apps? I'm asking because PCSXreARMed in RetroArch on PSTV doesn't launch it (not even ePSXe on PC).
