PS2 Classics Placeholder & PS2 Classics Launcher

@aldostools .

How to return to the HEN-3.0.3 knowing that my non-compatible consoles at the CFW are currently in HEN-3.1.1 ??? Is it possible ??? Do I have to create a new discussion thread on this subject ???

I have already carried out this manipulation with "GT-4" and no improvement, these games are always functional because it is stored (without start-up) on my 2TB DD (archiving).

Honestly I'm out of ideas. Maybe some other HEN users could come with other ideas.

@aldostools

I installed the old "PS2 Classics Placeholder V1.00" having, beforehand, deleted the "Ps2 Classics Launcher" and the few games I mentioned above still do not work (Tetris).

Are you trying to convert PS2 .iso files to ISO.BIN.ENC Format?
Or you already have them encrypted but is not working?
What's the error ?

There is a way to Encrypt them without PC
On PC, it's so much faster, I read the file on a DD and the encoding program stores it on another DD (physical reading on one DD and writing on the other). It is very fast while with "Apollo Save Tool" it is too slow for me.

@Algol Your .BIN.ENC is not correct. It says that the .BIN.ENC is 1056KB (1MB). That is not the size of that game.

If you're having issues with Burnout, I suggest you that show a picture of these files too.

Definitively the issue is with your files.

I repeat: I recommend you that convert again these games with problem to PS2 Classics.

Yes, indeed, all the games that no longer work (the 4 aforementioned) have all been reduced to the size of 1056 kb. It was their wrong launch that caused this, it is a launcher problem that I will immediately check and inform you very quickly. I guess it was the old "Tetris" who was copied on it, so the games have disappeared, replaced by Tetris. This is a serious mistake that I will control ...

The reasons why you have Tetris instead of the original game can be multiple, but the most probable reason is the Symbolic Link:

When a PS2 Classic game is mounted from /dev_hdd0/PS2ISO as /dev_hdd0/game/PS2U10000/USRDIR/ISO.BIN.ENC
webMAN MOD uses a symbolic link to "copy" the game, instead of do a real copy. The symbolic link saves disk space and makes the copy much faster because it creates a very small file that points to the inodes of the original file.

Once the game is "mounted" you have the same file in 2 distinct paths. If you modify one, the other file is modified automatically because both use the same disk sectors.

If you mounted one of these games (Burnout, GT4, BK) then re-installed PS2 Classics Launcher without deleting it first, the ISO.BIN.ENC that is already linked to the original file in /dev_hdd0/PS2ISO is overwritten, and that could have modified your original files.

If you repeated the installation mounting the other games, you ended corrupting the other games too.

If you made a backup of the files already corrupted, the bug remained in the backup even if you restored the original files multiple times in different machines.

There could be other reasons, but this is my theory about why it happened.

Indeed, this is surely the problem detected. I just copied my games in BIN.ENC from the archive HDD to the PS3 most affected by this phenomenon. I wiped replaced the "PS2 Classics Launcher" with the old "PS2 Classics Placeholder v1.00", launched ALL the games that wouldn't start and BINGO, all started working normally. I don't deduce anything but...

not really related, but this reminds me of some similar situation on my side using map path. I am mapping a few unused flash files for xmb plugins and when doing updates with Cobra enabled, I have to disable map path, cause otherwise the mapped files on hdd get updated/replaced

This case is like map path, but different because the files are linked in the file system. There is not way to disable it unless you delete the symbolic link before update the file.

webMAN MOD uses symbolic links by default when copying from /dev_hdd0 to /dev_hdd0. e.g. when mounting a PS2 Classic.
