So i've got a question for you lovely people:

Recently I dug out my old jailbroken slim. I think it was on 4.82.2 REBUG COBRA DEX.
I had a few ps2 games on it, one of which being Siren 2 (Forbidden Siren 2) which ran absolutely fine.

I've noticed that on the newer firmware by EvilNat Siren 2 crashes after the first cutscene; This is also the case for PS4 GoldHEN 9.00. After a little digging around I found the compatibility list for ps2classics which listed Siren 2 as unplayable, so my question is what is the difference between the emulator for 4.82.2 rebug cobra and the EvilNat 4.89.3 emulator and is there any way around this crash?

I know I could just downgrade to 4.82.2 again but then I wouldn't be able to play online with my girlfriend.

I cant help you but looking here https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/PS2_Emulation#PS2_Emulator_Types_and_Revisions the emulator is the same from 4.78 to 4.89 (so probably even 4.90).

Are u sure that it works on 4.82?

Could you test it again on 4.82 to make sure it works on that firmware? (U need just to downgrade to that firmware and try again)

@mrjaredbeta what do u think about that? If its true that some games work on older netemu then maybe some unplayable games may works on older emulator version, and also working game may have better performaces on older netemu revision (its just an assumption based on what dbobz said)

@dbobz How are you loading the game? I am guessing the config required for the game is not being loaded in after the update. Game compatibility should not be any different between those two firmwares.

Hi Jared,

I'm loading it through webMAN. I can't remember if I checked that a config file was present but I'll have a look once I've put my controller back together. If the config file is there do you reckon it could be a problem with the ISO rip? I'm fairly certain it's the same ISO I used before but I may be wrong.

I'll downgrade back to my old firmware and check it out too, I'm sure I've got the .pup for it lying around somewhere.
