PS2 PS2 slim con OPL non legge i giochi da CD/PS2 slim with OPL does not read games from CDs

One strange thing: I deleted the POPStarter folder+files from x:/APPS. I copied the folder+files BIN/ to mass:/ as indicated for POPSLoader....I went to the APPS screen with OPL, list of loaded games complete...but the word POPStarter still appears....in any case starting same thing happens in a game: black screen.

As I told you before, that is already the issue of the postarter loader in exfat, ask your questions in that thread.

Call me crazy... anyway I wanted to go back to the old path (the working one)... I managed to convert/format the disk from exfat to fat32 (with master partition)... copied the backup of the stick (fat32) to the HDD (fat32)....started wlaunchelf, started OPL 1.2.0...in the PS2 games list (CD or DVD) everything ok.....in the APPS list (PS1 games) now I see the complete list... but when I start black screen and period... nothing.... before they started... now they don't... what happened?

I guess after every launch of a PS1 game (with popstarter) or PS2 game (with OPL) there is no way to go back to the games list, right? You always have to restart your PS2...

You must enter the path where you hosted OPNPS2LD.ELF

In this way, every time you want to change the game you only have to press the L1+L2+R1+R2+Select+Start control simultaneously, this will take you back to the OPL screen.

For POPSTARTER if I remember correctly you must press L1+SELECT+START simultaneously it will take you to the pops menu where you must choose "exit" this will start the application "BOOT.ELF" that you renamed in your case it would take you to UlaunchElf.

Tonight I'll try.....many thanks......

Is the external HDD disk (mechanical type and not SSD) very "stressed" when used with the PS2? Does it hold up or will it have problems in the short term?

1) For both programs (OPL and Popstarter) do I need to copy some particular file into some folder for the restart procedure to work? Or ONLY indicate "igr path" for OPL ? Maybe IGR files...copy them into POPS folder ?

2) For games over 4GB to be divided with USBUTIL: files of approximately 1GB and one "ul.cfg" are created. Adding more games (already tried) creates the "ul.cfg" file again....to overwrite the existing one? NOT to be overwritten? What needs to be created to make each game read correctly?

As long as you give it the necessary care and proper maintenance (defragmentation) you will have a disk for a long time.

You don't need any of that, just assign the path (IGR Path) to your application in OPL, and rename the BOOT of the application that you want to start when you close POPSTARTER.

You must first load your list "ul.cfg" in USBUtil and then add more games with the same procedure as the first time.

For the IGR path of OPL no problem....however what do you mean by renaming the boot of the application that you want to restart when closing Popstarter?

If I have to load the "ul.cfg" file I guess I have to create it first...same method as the "conf_apps.cfg" file but probably with a different tabulation/writing...which one?

MAYBE I found the system with USBUTIL to "unify" all games into single ul.cfg.....

I'm referring to that application that you renamed "BOOT.ELF". It will be the one that starts when you close POSTARTER, which in your case is UlaunchELF.

The "ul.cfg" file is created by itself, when you use USBUtil, I mean that when you want to add more games, you must load the file that was previously created with the program.

when a game was active on ps1 I tried to press L1+select+start (except for a screen in Japanese appearing) and after selection it returned to the uLaunchELF screen.

It happens to me when I use burnaware to create iso files larger than 4gb from my game DVD....taking it into USBUTIL to divide it (and then transferring it to the fat32 HDD), which always gives an error for the cnf file. Maybe there are some settings to change? Maybe use USBUTIL directly to create the image file from the DVD?

In fact, if you have the disk, use it directly with USBUtil.
