PS2 PS2 with Prodigy modchip won't boot backups anymore

Hello, i have a SCPH-50004 with a modchip which should be a Prodigy, i say it because it used to launch Devolution mode by turning PS2 on keeping pressed reset for 3 seconds, than releasing it and pressing again.

I opened the console to replace the CR2032 battery, being careful with the Modchip wires, but after closing it again my backups won't boot anymore. I thought that a wire has been disconnected but, after trying a lot of times, i have been able to boot into devolution mode just once (i have ulaunchelf on the Memory card) than never again.

Any other disk readable by the PS2 like the original versions of my backup or CD-R audio and DVD-R vIdeo boots just fine, so i exclude the disc drive.

Could be there any reason why it worked only for one time or is it just dead?
Maybe somebody knows a keys combination to call this modchip that i don't know?

There has to be a loose connection somewhere. The PS2 has so many wires for a mod chip with a ton of ways it can go wrong even being careful. What I would suggest is using a multimeter to check your contact points first bud. If it was working before this is all I can think to "fix" aside from just dumping the mod chip altogether and use Free Mc Boot etc.

yes i think i have no choice but reopening it, hoping that the flat cables will resist.
Surely could be a loose connection, but i cannot understand how could have it worked just once.

Usually a cold solder joint coming loose. Happens to the best of us I'm afraid.

I've opened it and checked wires with a multimeter but everywhere I put one of its needle on a modchip contact and the other on a chip where are its wires connected says that there is a contact. It's normal or modchip is shorted?
