When i run miniweb and put my adress like this http://192.168.1.XXX:8000 in ps3 brower, i get "This page cannot be shown. (80710092)"

First you need to check if your console is CFW compatible using minverchk.pup

If your console is a super slim model or if it is a slim model that reports a version 3.60 or higher, then your console is not CFW compatible and you must use HAN Tools 3.0.1 in HFW Tools menu of **ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new).

If your console is a phat model or a slim model that reports a version 3.56 or lower, then your console is CFW compatible and you must use the Flash tools 2.0.1 in HFW Tools menu of **ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new). At this moment they are not available yet, but they will be available soon. So you have to wait a bit more.

You will also need to install first this firmware: 4.84 HFW which is available in this thread:

ps3 noob reporting in.
I have been reading through various forum topics for last three days and now has come the time to break out of the jail.
I would like you to approve / correct me if I understood anything wrong before starting.

I have a slim ps3, model no CECH-2504B, date code: 0D which is currently running Official Firmware v4.81.

All I am currently looking for is to run backup of ps3 games.
The firmware of my choice is, mainly to it's online popularity, 4.85.1 REBUG LITE Cobra 8.2.

Now I have read through cots'es guide multiple times and I have came to following:
1) Minimal version for my ps3 is v3.50 - confirmed by MinverChk.

I have noticed there is newer version of ps3 flash writer v2.0.2
This doesn't seem to be compatible with v4.82 ofw.
What is the preferred and safer aproach:

1. This guide, step by step. If I understand it correctly, i don't need to install hfw, as flash writer will work directly on ofw firmware. Therefore v4.81 ofw -> v4.82 ofw -> this guide -> v4.82cfw. The question remains, how do I install newer cfw on top v4.82?
2. Use newer flash writer, but this requires additional step. v4.81ofw->v4.85ofw->v4.85HFW->flash writer

Any help is really appreciated.

This guide is cohesive and great but I have a problem. Everything worked fine until I had to downpatch from version 4.87 to 4.82. No matter what I do with the flash drive, the PS3 keeps displaying an error message that says "No applicable data found." I have the PS3 folder, the UPDATE folder, and then PS3.UPDAT.PUP file inside of the folder. What should I do?

You can apply the patch from 4.87; you no longer need to be on 4.82 and in fact you cannot downgrade firmware versions while on OFW.

See this thread for more information. Also, even if you could downgrade, the file name needs to be PS3UPDAT.PUP and not PS3.UPDAT.PUP (unless that was a typo)
