PS3 PS3 60gb with 4.89 demostration mode.

I just bought a cechc02 with a "console modified for IDU use only" sticker on the back from gumtree(like craigs list).

Excited to find a backward compatible ps3 but dissapointed that the prev owner must have updated to 4.89 while the console was still set in the demo mode.
I understand there is work trying to get 4.89 CFW but when that is dome will there be a way to go from "demo mode" to it?
Ive found the pin code 7897 temp disables the demo mode, but it reappears on next startup.

Any ideas or info really appreciated .



 
Well you will have to find a 4.89 reverter but only one I see if 4.88 ATM. There used to be a TCL for MFW Builder to allow this. I will see if I can find some more info as I have done this years ago.

I did see the reverter 4.88. Its mad that ps still make a new firmware for the demo unit at this stage of the products life.

On another forum members Memox1982 and Sherwindex made reverter versions, anyone know if they are on here?

I have sent a message to a couple I know that can make this for you. Beyond my skills as I haven't really dabbled in the PS3 much lately. And it is pretty crazy you got one in 4.89 but I am pretty sure it is just some flags set that do this as this is how I got WiFi working with my CECHB when we added wifi to the unit. Simply patched one file and it worked but prior to this it didn't even display WiFi in the settings.
