PS3 PS3 artifacts and freeze after some seconds

Yes, you just press start and selectbatbthe same time and it brings up the temps in the top right corner, this is webmans dynamic fan control

Strange, in xmb it works, but ingame it doesnt. Maybe because my fan is plugged in with usb...
I retried the pressure mod but instead of only putting the little silicon pads, I put a little piece of plastic on the cpu to get more pressure and then put some silicon pads over it (I did that because my first silicon pad took the shape of where I put it and maybe therefore didnt push down very hard anymore). The ps3 runs for some hours now (i played a little bit and a lot of idle time) but right now it seems to work. I will monitor the situation in the next few days and will tell you if it really worked.
Edit: My ps3 has a flip chip problem. It worked for 7-8 hours and now I have artifacts again. Thanks for your help though

I'm having this issue myself rn, and when I apply pressure to my RSX directly I then get video output. I'm gonna look for a way to get more pressure to my GPU in hopes it extends the life a bit longer.

I now seem to have found the solution. The pressure mod works perfectly, I just cant close my PS3 anymore (which is more than ok for me). When I close my PS3, it probably applies a little too much pressure, and it doesnt work. Of course I could put less pressure and close the PS3, but I'm not sure if I woulf find the sweet spot again. Thanks again guys, and I hope that my posts can help other people with this problem. Just dont give up and try every possible pressure.

I played a lot with my ps3 (still open, to have the right pressure) and I had no problems whatsoever. I will tell you guys if something changes, but at the moment I would say that my problem is perfectly resolved !

That's great, keep track of how many hours gameplay you clock up

a good rework station like computer booter uses or a one that's been made using a pre heater and a hot air station with a BGA nozzle like Felix uses.

Ok the problem came back after 23 hours (and 20 more offs and ons). I am sure it has to do with the pressure that is probably not as strong as 1 month ago. I will see if it works to put a tiny bit more pressure and let you guys know if it worked.

Edit: I tried everything today, I lowered the pressure, I tried higher pressure, case of PS3 open and case of PS3 closed, I tried every possible thing, but it doesnt work anymore. Sometimes if I'm lucky the PS3 works for 30-40 seconds and then the artifacts come again.
My conclusion is that the pressure mod works, but I was just unlucky that my PS3 was "too damaged" for the pressure mod to work longer than 23 hours.

Edit 2: I tried to push on my PS3 case with my knee just to see of something happened, and the artifacts went away. Now I put some stuff on my PS3 (24,5kg to be precise) and it works for now (2,5 hours). Its not ideal having boxes and stuff on my PS3, but it works for now.

Edit 3: My PS3 started to have artifacts again, and I tried to put pressure from both sides, and now it works perfectly again.
