Ps3 Blu ray drive no working

So after a while I recently had the time to finally repair my phat CECHL01 ps3 with the help of a bought goodwill phat ps3 same model by the way. So I replaced the blu ray ribbon cable for the drive connected it and such booted it up and nothing. I checked the wiring everything is fine even installed Rebug 4.84 D-Rex fresh install and I can't even dump the Eid root key too I basically can't work with the rebug toolbox. Any idea on what's going on?

you need to flash noBD cfw and then remarry rhe drive.

No noBD should've thought about that. But to remarry the drive you need the Eid root key right?

that's why you need noBD cfw.use rebug 4.84.2 noBD,install latest toolbox (it will be in the packages folder),dump the keys,remarry the drive and then when you have all working system you can switch back to dex or anything you want.

i think most mods will work i think on rebug cex so maybe you don't even need dex,but i'm not into modding or dex in general,so don't quote me on that.

There is no REBUG NoBD anymore as joonie removed it as he doesn't support noBD CFWs as they are half baked patches and can break cobra features and other features of CFW.

i'm on mobile,reddit is for some reason blocked for me here but you should easily find it (just use desktop browser) and/or vpn if reddit is blocked,there's a thread there with all versions and hashes to check.works as intended.

you can also search this forum,it was posted at least a couple of times,that's how i came across it.

Joonie pulled the links for it. Just grab Ferrox No-BD CFW. Once remarried you can go back to Rebug. Or you can use MFW Builder to patch Rebug but I don't trust that. I'd rather have a known working No-BD firmware.

From what I remember it can give this but still has worked, try rebooting and/or reinstall the firmware.

Okay so now it's giving me error cex_drive_init_sblock() failed and cex_drive_init failed

Another symptom is that nothing happens like the cable is connected n stuff but the drive isn't taking in games nor even showing any sign of power
