Ps3 (cfw) died, system backup on new console

Hello there :)
So about 3 weeks ago my fat ps3 (evilnat 4.88) started to show behavior that points to a ylod in the near future so I replaced it today. But before I get started I want to know the following: If I run a system backup on a flash drive and restore it on my new ps3, can the fact that the old ps3 had a cfw mess the new console up? It's still on ofw if that matters. Can I just restore the backup anyway or should I install cfw again first (and does it need to be 4.88 again or is 4.88.2 OK too)?

I'm too scared to just try it so I thought I might ask somewhere where people with more experience are around.

Have a nice day
Toby

So if I do a normal system backup stuff like my user profile information (profile name, system settings, etc) and my save data for games will be saved but pretty much nothing else?

Using file manager (i.e build-in multiMAN) on PS3 side and/or FTP client (i.e Filezilla) on PC side (needs working i.e FTP Server build-in WebMAN Mod).

FTP Servers are not stable so recommend method is to use file manager and copy data to USB (FAT32 on MBR).

System Backup will restore on different consoles only:
  • system settings, including users, their passwords and NP Account ID
  • saves but only those without Copy Prohibited parrams (which prevents also copying saves to USB from XMB)
  • virtual memory cards
  • installed games, DLC and patches (but without licenses of course, and all content tied to IDPS will not works no matter what; like i.e Singstar DLCs)
Everything else will not be restored or even doesn't be in backup.

Some patches cannot be downloaded and install again because they are already removed from developers servers (and some from Sony servers too).
