PS3 doesnt recognise HFW file on USB

Following the excellent MrMarios YouTube guide, I am trying to install HFW_4.90.1_PS3UPDAT_03_01_2023 onto my PS3 slim running 4.90. The console is totaly standard. I have followed the guide carefully, the USB stick is formatted as the guide suggests but when i get upto updating via storage media, but the PS3 says "nothing found". It does recognise the USB but not the HFW update. I have tried two different USB sticks and both do the same thing. Any advice is much appreciated
 
The USB device must be formatted in FAT32 MBR (GPT is not supported).

The zip file must be extracted in the root directory of the USB device.

After the extraction, there should be a PS3 folder in the root directory with a subfolder named UPDATE and the PS3UPDAT.PUP inside.
 
Tried a few different USB sticks,recovery mode etc etc but my slim PS3 will not see the update file.....However my standard 60GB fat sees it instantly and is currently installing
 
Try burning a CD with the PS3UPDAT.PUP of HFW in the folder PS3_UPDATE

Update from recovery menu with that CD inserted.

Also remember to remove any PS3 game from the disc drive.

My Ps3 is a super slim 4.90 but when i minverchk it says 4.60 so im asking which one must i down load here " CFW Evilnat 4.89.3 Cobra 8.4 [PEX] [CEX] or CFW Evilnat 4.89.3 Cobra 8.4 [CEX]?

Hi did you manage to install the HFW 4.90.1?

SuperSlims are not CFW capable, and thus can not be downgraded.

Your only option is to install HFW 4.90 and then install HEN.
