PS3 PS3 FAT disk pull-in mechanism

Hello all,

I've got a PS3 FAT cechc and it has difficulties pulling in disks. you have to shove them in rather far before the mechanism starts grabbing the disk. ejecting works without noticable issues.

what part of the drive is responsible for triggering the pull-in?

I've got another drive with a broken laser. maybe i could switch some parts?

To answer the question myself,

I switched the part marked in red:

And also switched the whole lid of the drive (including the small sensor pcb):

Pull-in issues are gone, even though I could not see any physical difference between the parts that had issues and the parts I replaced them with.

Maybe that information helps someone in the future.
