luckily, I didn't have that error mentioned. I've always been on ofw though, if that makes a difference. also, I saw somewhere that you needed to be on ps plus to update automatically. that's not true. the ps plus requirement shows its icon next to options that require it. I think cloud saving and possibly automatically syncing trophies is among them. updating is not. you have to select a time frame, kinda like windows with its active hours, to update automatically. if it's not set, it won't update, so you have nothing to worry about. the updates are in two hour increments. the system will turn on during that time to sync, download, update, etc. stuff. it must be set beforehand. that's how I have mine set, 8:00-10:00 p.m. or the time I'd be the least likely to be on the system. you can press circle iirc to prevent the system from shutting off afterwards, if say you were on the system at the time or something, I think.
