PS3 PS3 HDD Gone for good?

First off, I ask of you not to judge me seeing as looking back I can understand how stupid I was :') ...

So I tried modding my PS3, wich was running 4.88 . I followed a step by step tutorial and everything was going okay, i got my dump.hex file and I was ready to mod my PS3 but I think the mod was configured for 4.89 so my PS3 ran into an error and the only way I managed to lauch it was in safe mode. I thought if I tried updating my system to 4.89 and tried to mod it again it would work, but I wasn't able to find an official 4.89 PS3UPDAT.PUP. So for some reason I thought it would be safe to download one I found in a third party website and tried reinstalling it on my PS3 but my console died for good. It would boot up but I wouldnt get any image or feedback on my controllers. I tried resetting video drivers, launching it in safe mode, basically everything I could, until I had the idea of trying to read the PS3 HDD in my Windows PC to see if I could revert aything I did or to try and fix it. I got an old adaptor I had laying around and connected the HDD to my PC via USB, I went to "Disk Management" and stupidly tried initializing it. It didnt work obviously so I downloaded the PS3 HDD Reader and noticed in the readme file that attempting to initiallize the drive would ruin it for good so here I am after researching every way possible to fix what I did. I found posts talking about rewriting data so that it would be PS3 compatible again, or cloning it into another HDD, but I am unsure as of what to do.

So I would like to know what possibilities do I have and if there is any way to fix everything I did :')
What is there to do?

It is fine to download fw from any source until You checking checksums (i.e You can find proper on ps3 dev wiki).

If You have OFW 4.88, whatever You found and allowed to be installed is another OFW, in version 4.88 or any higher. Cannot be harmed because we don't know how to signed update package contents past 3.55, so everything will be properly signed and untouched. Your problem then is hardware related. If Your fw was already CFW, well, then different story. It is possible to make bricking CFW in purpose.

I wrote tutorial how to fix disk initialization. Go to tutorial section for PS3 platform.

I'll try to fix initiallization, but the other problem is that, even before initiallization, I was completely unable to use my PS3. It wouldn't give any sort of image output if I tried turning it on with the HDD in (surprisingly it would give image if I tried turning it on without one). I'm not sure how I can fix this either.

Update: I tried connecting the HDD to the PS3 so that I could format it but it won't give any sort of output. (I've reset video output settings, tried starting in safe mode, nothing works)

Disk Initialization is not Your main issue here, as I said earlier. It is just nail on the coffin. ;) For some reason, after installing fw, You've bricked her (maybe bad blocks on flash memory?).

I'm afraid not :(

The flash didn't have anything besides what was needed to install the CFW. The console started behaving this way as soon as I tried installing the sus 4.89 PS3UPDAT.PUP ...

Is there anything I can do? The console works fine with any other HDD or even without a HDD, it just doesn't work with mine :(

Does it? Then it is HDD issue alone. You should check his S.M.A.R.T, maybe he dying. If You S.M.A.R.T is ok, then his electronics and/or firmware is broken somehow.

Logic structure damages making it recognized as empty, not locking Your console in endless black screen.

S.M.A.R.T. tells me the drive is okay. Is there a way to back up the drive to my pc and format it just so I can keep the drive's contents and still use my PS3?
