PS3 PS3 MultiMan problem 80010017

Hello guys,

I do not really know if this is the place to ask for help because I am really new here so please don't be mad.
I have a PS3 with multiman installed in and I wanted to update it to 4.85 version, so I just did that with through PS3, everything worked great before I updated the PS3 System software (I think that messed it up) and now when I want to boot up the Multiman to play some games it shows this error: "An error occurred during the start operation 800100017" I tried to do the Restore file system through safe mode, but it didn't worked and I am out of ideas, I really tried to do some research on this, but I am very green on this stuff.

So which firmware were you on? Where did you get your system update?
You said you updated system, did you mean updated multiman or both?
Which version did you have before?
Did you uninstall multiman and reinstall to try that?

Hey, sorry for not giving more info.
Now my Multiman is on 4.85 and PS3 software is in 4.85.
I updated Multiman in the PS3 with the package thingy and I updated the PS3 software by just checking the updates.
I updated both systems, first multiman than PS3.
Before i had 4.55 version.
I do not know how to reinstall Multiman, because I bought this PS3 like 6 years ago with the multiman installed.

aha, i guess what is happening to you. you had previously custom firmware and multiman was working (normal cos only works with CFW or HEN) then you updated by internet to last official 4.85 firmware, doing this you lost your custom firmware and thats the reason cos is not working now. if you want to use multiman again you have to install custom firmware or install HEN, tutorials for both are on this site. for both you have first to install HFW 4.85.1, for installing custom firmware go to **ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new) (with PS3 browser) site for flashing NAND or NOR (i dunno what has your PS3) and then install a custom firmware. for HEN is easier cos you only have to have previously installed HFW 4.85.1 and then go to **ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new) (with PS3 browser) site and install HEN. check tutorials, is very easy.
