PS3 PS3 Power Supply help

Hi
I live in Australia (230/240v mains)
Purchased an NTSC PS3 with the info that its plug and play
Received the PS3 and on the bottom it clearly states 120v Alt Current Symbol 3.2a
With my VERY limited knowledge about electrical stuff im NOT going to hook this PS3 up to my mains without a stepdown.
Now the stepdown ive got does not take the wattage the PS3 puts out so I can't test it

Can some one give me a crash course about PS3 PSU's please?

Can i swap out the NTSC PSU with one from a 240v PAL console?

If i just plug it into my mains will i fry the PSU or the MOBO or both?

Any help appreciated.

(Its a supposed backwards compatible PS3 and i got a good deal on it so i really dont want to fry it.
Ceche-01 model)

Thanks in advance for any help / advice

You can plug it in and it will work as the power supply will work between 100-240v. Both revisions used in the CECHA01 are world wide universal power supplies so you have no need to worry.

I'm from the UK and all the A01 consoles just plug in and work with no issues. Also wiki confirms that the power supplies are universal and work anywhere in the world.

You are good to go!. I'm from Argentina where we have 220v, have 2 US and 1 JP PS3's and worked out of the box without any additional power conversion whatsoever.

Thanks !!

i didn't receive a reply that assured me that it would work but i searched for the ps3 psu wiki (which I didn't know existed) and they advised me to open the ps3 and check detailed info on the psu.
Basically, as advised by you two, it accepts 100v-240v.
Plugged it in and turned on no problems.

Thanks again and ill be sending out some good vibes as thanks
