PS3 PS3 Toolset v1.1 Update

I wonder if it wouldn't be easier to port the code to a "homebrew application" that runs using PS3HEN instead of the PS3 browser.
If so it could be developed and debugged using the regular tools (PS3L1ght or PS3 SDK).
It has always been a possibility, I have said it before & I am not the only one... ;-)

Also I think that if someone did develop that (I won't), I would just shut down the PS3 Toolset site for good actually & keep working on the next phases of the Toolset project only privately.

i think it has been discussed/mentioned a few times. if the freedvdboot exploit from ps2 were made to fully work on ps3, i could see a homebrew flasher being very useful. same disc could flash or install hen. updating the html flasher was also mentioned but the patches it used are no longer made. it would really be a rewrite rather than update.

someone did mention removing virtual memory card as solving that bgtoolset freeze, but they did not respond when asked to try to reproduce it. :(

I could never find the bug because we cannot reproduce it, very few people overall reported it in comparison with daily usage & because nobody who has experienced it has been willing or able to help!
And btw I always use the debugger for development, it wouldn't help at all unless the bug can be reproduced on a DEX machine.

I introduced a new actionscript communication bridge in the coming 4.88 update to address what I suspect may be the cause of that freeze issue, let us hope my instinct is not completely off & the changes will help get rid of that freeze.

@aldostools , yes it has been mentioned a few times, building a psl1ght homebrew that could patch and flash the ps3 for cfw

Now that we made a front-end app for the "ps3 advanced tools", a few dumper and flasher tools are available to the final users.
The only task left would be to do some extensive testing on the dumper (for nand and nor models), and then improve the flasher so it can patch images, validate everything and flash only if everything is valid.

I didn't mess with it because I don't have a hardware flasher, and releasing such stuff without real testing would be risky (and I don't want to be the guy that f***ed a hundred PS3s)

You need to be patient. Asking pointless questions serves no purpose, and will not hurry the process along whatsoever.
pointless? no, curious? yes.

not to mention, im curious bc the website says a try again in a few hours, not tomrrow or 2 days from now. so im curious as to whats going on. ‍♂️

Marking time and counting the hours is pointless, as is putting an arbitrary time-frame on it based on hope alone. As you said yourself, bguerville is doing this in his own time for the good of the community.

I understand that you're eager - as so many others are - for the exploit to be updated for 4.88. Nothing wrong with that at all, but asking will not speed along the process. It will be released when bguerville is completely satisfied that it's ready for public use.

Again, nothing wrong with being eager and taking an interest in the scene - it's very much appreciated. The only thing is, asking how long it will take is like asking 'how long is a piece of string?' :)

Ummmmm... thats not how it works... (the fact that the site is under maintenance does NOT mean its done... it means that the its final product is being implemented still)
