PS3HEN PS3HEN - Official Release Thread (Homebrew Enabler for the PS3) v3.5.0 (4.93 support)

Here's a little update.

@aldostools implemented auto-refresh on start-up so that way both webMAN Games and Hybrid Firmware Settings under Network Category would remain hidden by default which avoids unnecessary crash from loading both HEN plugins without HEN enabled.

Unofficial PS3HEN 2.0.1 Beta Change note (based on aldo's fork) :

Code:
1. mappath is used for enabling xai_plugin so it wouldn't appear on fresh boot.
2. Remote Play with PC restriction removed
3. @DeViL303's extended download_plugin support added
4. Hybrid Firmware Tools (equivalent to CFW settings with less features)
5. Both Stock and REBUG edition (theme) available.
6. webMAN MOD 1.47.20 beta integrated (auto-refresh Game and Network Categories)

Special thanks to @aldostools @esc0rtd3w @habib @DeViL303 @ShaolinAssassin @lmn7

P.S. This isn't an official update, features can be added or removed in the future.
I installed this new Hen 2.0.1 beta to take a look at the content, however I will expect to go out officially, how do I remove it? "Why is it just to install the previous back over this?

Why you say install previous version back ?? did you face problem with HEN 2.0.1?!

@Joonie just a question of curiosity, but why would you include WMM directly as part of the HEN ? I've been intentionally avoiding using it, as it gives me issues, such as not being able to connect to the Internet and I am way too comfortable with Multiman to struggle with WMM's settings. Could you please at least do a build without WMM for a next time ?

I think it should stay in. Use 2.0.0 if you don't want it. Also its easy to disable it, just rename the sprx. Background FTP etc and the other features it offers are worth having.

Alright the, I might give it a try (although last time I haven't found how/where to disable background FTP)

No problem, everything is normal, I was a bit worried, because the cooler accelerated a lot, I know it is normal because of the webMAN, .as the point is that I had not installed the webMAN before, so when I went to open to configure the fan control , blank page and nothing appeared, I think it's because I had not installed the pkg webMAN Mod ... I've never used this tool before.

One great thing I noticed in this beta version of HEN 2.0.1 is that in-game icons are much better for loading, and there are no more duplicate folders (displaying only the names) below the games.

A question about plugins support...

If I decide to install some plugins such as PSNPatch or WebMAN MOD using HAN Package Manager, do I understand correctly that once I am on HEN, I must insert a USB drive with "boot_plugins.txt" before I boot the PS3 in order to use the plugins, otherwise the plugins won't be visible on the XMB?

I just want to be sure, because if this is true, then for me it's actually an interesting security feature (my kids could not possibly accidentally use a plugin without the proper USB drive inserted). This could actually made me favor WebMAN over MultiMAN for FTP functionalities.

Plugins config file must be there before you Enable HEN. It doesnt matter if USB is there when you power on the console.

If your kids know how Filezilla works then you are pretty much screwed, lol.

How did this happen? XD .... I did not ask this question but it's like it had been me lol...:highly amused:

wMM blocking PSN issue's currently fixed in this release.

glad it worked, but what you actually did was overwrite 2.0.1 with 2.0.0 bins :)

EDIT: nvm i see you used 2.0.x build. not sure whats in there!

@esc0rtd3w @Joonie

With HEN enabled, can i install a Rebug CFW on a compatible PS3 or i need to patch the system first ?
you dont need HEN for that. you need to use the Flash Writer

just install new HDD package and files will be overwritten.

well technically, install HFW fresh if you dont want added xai, RCO and XML from 2.0.1...it is a BETA afterall!

Question for offline install.

If you first did the usb version of the offline install, and now you want to switch to hard drive one, how do you switch? I tried installing the HD's one over it and I still need the usb stick in for hen to enable properly.

Thanks,
