I can confirm, that having a disk inserted when starting irisMAN caused black screen crash.
But, even without disc it also is crashing some times..
(next option is to remove webMAN)

I have also found another problem:

xmb/network/hybrid firmware tools/restart ps3/power off

crashes ps3 every time (found by accident, meant to click on restart)

and just another thing I noticed, if i delete irisMAN, when deletion is finished the ps3 cooling fan goes crazy? why does deleting this one item cause it to go full speed? reboot is only thing that fixes it..

tommorow ill delete webMAN and try irisMAN again..

I'm gonna have to do a database rebuild again or a full wipe with all this deleting and adding..

I only installed irisMAN again because multiMAN was not loading my game covers, but it seems my games i got in france dont have covers downloadable by either homebrew manager. I'll have to add them manually.

edit: after removing irisMAN/webMAN, multiMAN refused to run, black screened every time.
Had to delete multiMAN and reinstall to get it work..
Too tired now to do any more, wish I'd not installed irisMAN, gonna have to do a full reinstall tomorrow, becuase i had no issues with webman/multiman until i installed irisman.

You can delete folder on hdd0:/hen this will remove HEN completely. Sounds as if somehow your XML for HFW Tools got corrupted. Then try a fresh install of the app. Not sure if this will help but it could as mine got borked somehow and had the same issues with power options. Also you can delete HEN Toolbox from hdd0:/game folder as well and a fresh install of that might be a good idea. Hoping you don't have a failing HDD as these are symptoms of this type of hardware failure as well. I'd also reinstall HFW twice from recovery after removing HEN and reinstalling.
 
Ill just do a full wipe and install tomorrow and order an HD just incase..
But I had no problems with just webman/multiman and latest HEN...

I all three managers @Joonie released and webMAN without any issues. The only app that caused grief for me was sMAN. I'm hoping with a clean HDD and fresh HFW install this will solve your issues.

I know you do not work on previous versions of hen but I really want to have hen 2.1.1 without the activation verification


I find that problems start with verification.
It was simpler at the beginning of the hen, when it had no verification, it was loaded much faster. like when we were in Han *
in han * to activate did not need verification. I know it's not the same * HAN * as with hen, but the load at the beginning was almost the same in the versions where the verification was not.
if * han * failed, the cookies, the cache and the search history were deleted. it was also the same in the versions of hen in its beginnings
 
is it possible to have hen enabled at startup when you boot the ps3 ?

dont know if i can post this here ,but after doing the newest update sometimes on the xbm main screen games dont want to show via webman games <on the main ps3 dashboard
but it tels me iso mounted but its not showing the disc icon all games work fine via managunz

I think I've found the reason why irisman was blackscreen on startup,this is due to the fan control function of the webman mod
If I disable it or set it to syscon, there will be no black screen at all,I've started and quit the program more than twenty times in a row
At present, I have only tested irisman and not other apps,I'm not sure if other apps are black screens for the same reason,I hope that the above information will be useful to other people with the same problem

I'm not sure what you mean by "activation verification". If you mean the pop up, then that is part of HEN plugin. If you can compile your own version of HEN. you can try to remove it. I cant help sorry, I do not compile HEN myself.
 
Both Sman + MMcm works great with manual fan control.

Automatic get black screen.

Hope this information is usefull for those have same issue, and for devs.
 
Little out of topic question

What server did dev use on henbrew store. Its realy slow, i only get 20KB/s when download multiman.

I wanted it enabled at start also, then I realized if something goes wrong, then we'd basically get stuck in a boot loop. (Start, hen fail, reboot, hen fail, reboot, etc.)

It might be better left manual since if it isn't working, then you can troubleshoot without it getting stuck.

This is totally OK. It means HEN couldn't look for a new version because the PS3 is not connected to Internet. There's nothing bad with this.
 
I do not understand very well how the ps3 manages the memory in terms of the plugins, but it is a plugin to older I think that another plugin to older would be forced because I tried sMan 1.12 (henbrew) and some black screen has come out. I indicated that because it worked for me, I already said that it is not the solution.
