4.82 vars are set at the top (no if condition). 4.84 vars are only set if the firmware version matches.
 
I like that HEN detects a burned game but it can not backup that game with Multiman or Irisman . Is that something that HEN just can't do or... ?

With 2.4.0 .rap auto activate work again for me
*2.3.2 don't fix it and I think it broke when I update HEN to 2.3.1

Update incoming for users experiencing freezes
 
I don't know if anybody has noticed yet, but this HEN feature is amazing: I have discovered that PS1 disc backups are now compatible and they can be run in Phat, Slim and Super slim consoles, no need to play them in .pkg format anymore. Just enable HEN, put your backup in the disc tray and run it; console will identify it as a PlayStation format disc ofc with the black disc icon in XMB. (Edit: Maybe I have joined the hype train pretty late lmao but it's ok to point it out for the newcomers interested on this and they're lazy to check earlier posts)
 
if my console has no connection to the internet and i wish to update HFW 4.84.2 Hen 2.3.1 to 2.4.0 should i just open the .pkg that comes with the 2.4.0 release file with hen enabled ? or do i have to make a local web server ?
also are those issues i see being reported of the offline enabler not working after the latest updates are for 4.85 or is 4.84 affected too ?
 
you need to enable HEN that you have to mount dev_flash to dev_rewrite and then you install the HEN 2.4.0 pkg

but dont you need to go to ps3xploit website to enable dev_flash ? or are the release files the whole ps3xploit website? (dev_flash mount included)
 
Guys, do anyone have problems with FTP transfers after the last hen (2.4.0).
I cant use Filezilla because it says connection refused, ip and other settings are the same.
It worked with the last hen before this one (2.3.2).
What am I doing wrong?

UPDATE: it worked now, didnt change anything just reset the console

1st you said that i need to enable HEN then then mount dev_flash as dev_rewrite then install pkg
but now you said that HEN mounts dev_rewrite automatically.

so if i understood you correctly since i have HEN 2.3.1 it should be a matter of just opening the latest HEN .pkg
or did i miss something ?

no i didn't say that i say by enable HEN you mount dev_flash to dev_rewrite as the flash is mounted when HEN is enabled automaticly

you just have to
  • 1-Enable HEN
  • 2-Install HEN 2.4.0 PKG

I could be wrong, but I don't think this is working properly, bigger DLCs like Prince of Persia's Epilogue work fine (even in earlier builds of HEN) but smaller stuff like God of War III's DLC don't, my backups of them just fail to install right out of the gate.

i've just did as you suggested, installed pkg and rebooted, hen enables fine and says is 2.4 so i assume it was successful, so what is the HEN.BIN on the release files for ?

You mean PS3HEN.BIN that is the HEN payload file which contain all the patches

sorry to keep bothering you like this, so if the pkg that comes with the release files is installed will it achieve the same result as doing it trough the xploit website ? or do i need to paste that file in the ps3 ?

it is the same bro cause the pkg itself is from ps3xploit but when you update hen using ps3 you don't see the download link

:)
