ive added this as an HFW Tools toggle now (under Maintenance) for next release. Here is a package if you want to try it. After toggled, it doesnt auto-reboot, but maybe it should for release....idk.

With ps3 hen and multiman one of my games worked but the another game is showing an error when i tried to play the game through multiman,it shows"An error occured during the start operation 80010017"any fix plzzz help

Hello, guys. I am having the same issues as Taaha.

I have a PS3 super slim so HEN is my only option. I went through the process of installing HFW twice, and all that, following the YouTube tutorial "How to Install PS3HEN on Any PS3 on Firmware 4.90 or Lower!". I am pasting the full name because I cannot add links due to permissions. Please, note that the video show the steps for a version that is not the current one, but the steps should be the same.

I currently have the firmware 4.90.1 HFW, hybrid and explotable. Also, I am using PS3HEN 3.2.2 which is the latest.

The problem I am getting is that after activating HEN and using MultiMAN (HEN dedicated version) to load a game, after selecting the CD icon with the name of the selected game, my console shows the error number 0x80010017 and does not start the game.

I have tried many things, getting no good results. So far what I can share with you is:
1) Once HEN is activated the icon dissapears from the PS3 menu (which I understand is correct)
2) I open MultiMAN and I am able to copy my games from a USB memory to the hard drive of the console with no issues.
3) I am using FIFA 19, Assasins Creed Black Flag, and Diablo III to test HEN.
4) It does not matter how I try to start the game, either from USB or hard drive it will not start, and show the 80010017 error code.
5) It does not matter the format the game is, either in folders (PS3_GAME, PS3_UPDATE, etc), or ISO (either in one file or divided into 4gb pieces), it will not start.

I would like to get some light here cause I must be doing something wrong.

Thanks to the community in advance!

Best,

Kuky

Quick question:
HEN seems to support a variety of HFW and even OFW. The PS3 I'm planning to install HEN on is on OFW 4.81. Would you recommend me to keep it on that one or update to a HFW or even a higher OFW? If there are pros and cons I'd be thankful if anyone could list them. If possible I'd like to keep Blu-ray movie functionality intact (although it is not mandatory).

HEN works fine now on 4.81. A reason to update is if you play online. The bluray keys will also be outdated, so that's another reason you may want to update.

Other than that, functionality will be basically the same.

@esc0rtd3w how can i set the version in version.bin?

It never worked for me lol

I remember when hen 03 01 came out i set 03 05 but Hen was reading "Latest update is 6C:3E" now i set it to 03 30 and same thing, it displays something similar.

OFC it is in hex format

Afair there should only be 3 requirements to use custom version.bin and versioning, but it's from memory so if I forget something, pls don't hesitate to correct me.

Here goes

1. update the hen revision syscall 8 then recompile the payload to be installed on update.
Line in payload/main.c

#define HEN_REV 0x0322

2. to use your own custom version.bin, you need to modify the URL in henplugin.sprx main.c and recompile sprx.

3. The server where version.bin is hosted must be accessible, must handle a bin file correctly and provide the correct http response to a simple query. Check what you get from a request made with a regular browser url input.

@esc0rtd3w i'm mentioning you again as i broke the mention in the previous post by editing it
@bguerville basically explained it pretty well. There is also a text document on github with steps to take when just the revision is updated.

https://github.com/PS3Xploit/PS3HEN/blob/master/docs/update_hen_src_version_only.txt

Pretty much just modify the bin. Its only 4 bytes long, for example 03 22 is the bytes currently. Then as bguerville said, you have to change the path to hen_version.bin in the sprx. There are 2 paths it looks for, one for release and one for development, [server]/hen/hen_version.bin and [server]/hen/hen_version_dev.bin

Edit: the server host also needs updated , as per your requirements.

#define HOST_SERVER "www.ps3xploit.me"

And lastly, for the package paths, you need to change this line

const wchar_t* pkg_url_tmp = L"http://www.ps3xploit.me/hen/%ls/%ls/%ls/installer/Latest_HEN_Installer%ls";

@Coro for some reason your mirror installers from your github, deletes the vsh/resource/AAA folder, any idea why?
latest version of lmn7's autohen (4.90/3.2.1) renames a few folders in flash. this is to allow hen installation to flash directly instead of hdd-based install. alternate installer should just install current hen pkg.

the mirrors of the other two installers are still 3.1.1. rather than recompile hen every time, i will probably drop those two.

Any ideas for an usb exploit of hen? Or is it impossible to do for fully offline LV2 execution. I mean you could technically do it without the requirement of a working wifi/network or even no access to wifi users that it would benefit (maybe)
That is how HEN already works, offline. You can still use a USB to load the payload from. We setup the pkg to be a one shot install of all files needed for ease of use for the end user. WiFi or any network is not needed to actually exploit LV2 currently using HEN.
