did you change the ip in your webman or mmc to match your pc ip?
and did change ip in ps3netsrv to match your ps3 ip?
i know these things are obvious but sometime i forget them so maybe you too.
note: i don't know much about network cable but i use a normal cable from my pc to my ps3 and it work fine, no router only my 1gbp/s networkcard, a normal cable network and my ps3.
