So yes as the title says, I tried jailbreaking for the first time by following a yt tutorial, everything went well until I had to load patch via HTTPS on the ps3xploit bgtoolset site on my ps3, it kept failing, saying patch download error and the log said "Patch download complete, SHA256 Extraction complete, Patch validation operations complete, Patch validation: NG"
So yeah can anyone either link me to the patch so i can download it on my laptop and load it on my usb or can anyone atleast tell me how to proceed?

edit:i also checked the full logs and it also said in yellow color "custom patch file detected" what does that mean? "invalid patch file nofsm_patch_488bin"????

It would have been helpful to add screenshots to your post especially as you give us little information about the console model, the current firmware etc..
According to your description, the Toolset is downloading the patch file (nofsm_patch_488.bin) but when it verifies the data after download, it finds a discrepancy. The downloaded patch data does not match the expected no-fsm patch data for the current setup.
Again, a logs screenshot would have helped us understand better, it would have provided the sha256 hashes calculated by the system among other things..

As it is, with the information you provided, I have no idea what could be wrong at your end.
We tested the load via https option many times, with many setups on different console models, never had this issue & as you can see, nobody else has been reporting the problem you seem to have either.

Anyway the PS3 Toolset also gives you the option to download the patch file through a regular browser download to USB storage rather than load it directly into menory. You can use that option then load the patch file from USB.
And if it doesn't work either, you can always get the 4.88 no-fsm patch file from the pyps3tools repo at github.com/littlebalup/PyPS3tools.
