I just bought a PS3 Phat today and it seems that the site is down, i have little to no experience with PS3's, when exactly will the site be fixed and is there an alternative for now?

for HEN use ps3xploit.me for now. for CFW, nothing official for now. there some unofficial partial rips that may be risky so i do not recommend them.

Is there a way to revert to CFW after I install HEN? Im very very new to this and I've heard that CFW is better than HEN overall, so I don't want to mess up my console just because I was impatient

Once HEN is installed, and you have icon on xmb, it's completely offline. It will check for an update, but online is not required to work.

Just reinstall HFW, then use installer again. If you want to use manual installer, i have linked to a working manual installer from @Coro GitHub for now, so everything should be working.

yes. once the bgtoolset is back online, you can use it to patch flash for cfw installation.

The short version is that I was sent 2 emails, one on July 27 and on July 29 from the Digital Crime Unit for malicious/fraudulent site on **ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new). I didn't see the first one, but did read the 2nd one, which stated that I had to remove the offending content and move hosting somewhere else, within 24 hours, and if it wasn't done by Aug 1, 2022 then the products would be deleted.

I contacted GoDaddy support and explained the situation. I was told I had to contact the DCU by email, which sounded absurd to me, since I was already on the phone. I was told that they couldn't be contacted any other way.

After sending an email in response asking them to release the domains, I didn't get a reply back for 2 days. I was hung up on by a supervisor during the first call. I called back and this time I was told that you can contact the DCU through their chat system. They again told me to send an email.

During the same 2nd call, I asked support if I had to remove the domains or just the hosting, and they said I didn't have to move the domains. So I got new hosting and backed up files, then removed hosting from GoDaddy, and pointed nameservers to new host.

At this point I thought everything was fine. The next day is when GoDaddy then proceeded to remove everything from my entire account, including 5 domains and nopsn hosting. I was only sent emails for 2 domains out of 5, regarding removal, after the fact.

I have since called GoDaddy around 8 times and have had 2 supervisors hang up on me and all the while, they never told me they unregistered the domains and were resold, until today.

So that's it. GoDaddy just (illegally?) dumped all of my domains back on the market, with zero accountability.

Wow, So GoDaddy just totally fucked you. They basically wrote you off as violating the ToS and seem like they don't give a shit about keeping your business or, i presume, your years as a client.

I personally use NameCheap as my registrar. Have for years. Without issue.

Not sure what recourse you would have with GoDaddy.

Thanks for the tips, although at this point i think we just take the L and move on.

The only difference you will notice is that you need to enable hen on bootup, I prefer hen as it is so much easier to install.

You may need to use some specific hb ports for hen, but that isn't much. Once BG Toolset is back online, I would use Evilnat CFW w/cobra as a decent cfw

So for CFW, it is editing the actual firmware from what I've gathered, does that mean I can convert to CFW once bgtoolset is back.
 
I can confirm the DNS trick works for BG Toolset still, (using this exact url ** www.** ** www.ps3xploit.net > D... (NEW URL = http://ps3toolset.com)/bgtoolset/) however i was getting a time error when it loaded, but it does load. I asked @bguerville about this, and am waiting for his reply. It may be an ok temp solution, if it works with alternate DNS. We should have the new domains and hosting shortly, and can then focus on moving everything over and letting other devs have access to it.

Thanks for the info, I'll most likely wait for the main site to go back up, but if it does get fixed soon, ill be sure to support your hard work on patreon.

Just Remember, you have to change your DNS Server Settings through your router. With custom DNS server inside PS3 connection it won't work.
Just did that. Happy owner of a CFW PS3 :)
