not sure. I don't remember what the font looks like. if you find a TTF or convert one format to it, make sure it's the right size or else the font will appear large or small. I once had a font that appeared extremely tiny. what may be the best way to tell is the file size.
To find out better, the way would be to unpack a PS4 update file, and extract these files, is there a program for that? ... I was also wanting to extract some icons from the XMB as well, so if it is possible it will be fun to get a taste of it .

Thanks, i been looking at the fonts inside the "SST font family" in PC and there are several that looks nice@sandungas,After several searches on google, i get to download the SST Family fonts, having in it the font style of the PS4 that is "Roman". This package not only contains the PS4 font style, but all styles from the SST Family fonts.
Are made by the same "guy" that made some fonts for the PS3 (and labeled then "yoon" too) http://yoondesign.com//common/font/SCEPS4Yoongd-Bold.otf

It seems sony likes to work with that "yoon" studio to make the korean fonts, it seems that "yoon" made fonts for the PS3 and PS4, and probably PSVita toodev_flash/data/font/SCE-PS3-YG-B-KOR.TTF
dev_flash/data/font/SCE-PS3-YG-L-KOR.TTF

Yes, I noticed this recently, something I did not have I've noticed that from the 3 fonts available by the system, only the first (Original) is the one that is used in all parts of the system, for example, if you choose the "Pop" font, it can only be used in the main XMB, where the user performs all the functions of the System, when entering a game / applications, and open the XMB in game, you will have Original font running again, so the same goes when you logout to choose another user, (first screen before XMB) it will also be running the Original font ... summarizing using the Rounded or Pop fonts, they will only have effect on the main XMB. do the test, choose one of the two fonts available by the system and then open some application, and then run the XMB in game you will notice what I said before, then replace the original with any other, and enter an application / game and you will notice that the system will be using your custom font as the default, even when the health warning appears when booting the console you will be using the font chosen by you.Thanks, i been looking at the fonts inside the "SST font family" in PC and there are several that looks nice
There are a couple of details that worths to be mentioned before what im going to say next...
The other fonts in the PS4 with a name containing "yoon"
Are made by the same "guy" that made some fonts for the PS3 (and labeled then "yoon" too) http://yoondesign.com/

And btw, the font filenames in the PS3 firmware follows some rules... it can be seen well in this experimental tables i made for wiki with the "PS3 pre-retail" fonts
https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/Talk:XMB_Fonts#Font_versions_in_DECR_0.82.006
Basically, we have this families:
R = Rodin
NR = New Rodin
SR = Seurat
MT = Matisse
YG = Yoon Gothic
VR = Volkswagen Rounded (yeah, the car manufacurer makes fonts too)
Later was added some more but are extras
The character that comes next is the style (R=regular, L=light, B=bold), so...
SCE-PS3-NR-L-JPN.TTF <--- this is New Rodin Light for japanese
SCE-PS3-NR-R-JPN.TTF <--- this is New Rodin Regular for japanese
SCE-PS3-NR-B-JPN.TTF <--- this is New Rodin Bold for japanese
Im just mentioning incase you want to add some notes about this names in the .txt or when talking about them in forums, not sure if is going to confuse people thought because is ilke having to remember 2 different names for the same thing, but anyway...
What i was not aware is one thing you explain in the .txt
So you are saying the SCE-PS3-RD-R-LATIN.TTF and SCE-PS3-RD-R-LATIN2.TTF (in other words... the RoDin Regular familly) are used throughout the system and never changes when you change the theme settings in XMB
And the others available in theme settings are:
Theme settings ---> Rounded = Seurat
Theme settings ---> Pop = Volkswagen
But are only applyed in some menues, right ?
In other words... even if you choose "rounded" or "pop" in theme settings there are going to be some menus using the default (rodin regular), right ?
-------------------
*Last btw... the replacement changes you are suggesting only affects to *****-LATIN.TTF (used by many languages in countries from europe and america)
I guess worths a mention in the .txt, because eventualy there is going to be people that wants to use your fonts for other non-latin languages
