Until a new entry point is found, any updates to HAN will likely be either to improve on existing functions or to be able to use HAN on higher firmwares with consoles that have already had it installed. The entry points that HAN requires were patched with 4.83 OFW update, and 4.84 is likely an attempt to patch the vulnerability that allowed people to continue using certain functions.
My suggestion is if you're currently able to use HAN, do not update period. If you're worried about accidentally updating, set yourself up with PKG Linker or something similar that will allow you to activate HAN offline, and keep your console offline as much as possible.
I've not been able to keep up with all the details lately, so this is just my opinion.
If you absolutely must have a console online for some reason, you're either going to have to choose one or the other, or get a second console one for HAN the other to play online or whatever.

It's honestly a miracle that we even have something like HAN that has allowed those of us that didn't have CFW as an option, so if you are currently able to use HAN, don't try to fix something that isn't broken. We can't expect the Ps3Xploit team to continue producing the same miracles over and over when they've already been pushing it to the limit.
If precious trophies and online multiplayer plagued by hackers are your priority, update at your own peril.

I just read the article explaining 4.84, it seems that the Storehaxx exploit still works, however they're recommending that no one update right now.

someday someone will found one crack on fw 4.84 and in distant future all ps3 will be compatible for cfw.
just for now we need to wait only or try found ourselves learn programming and try
