PS5 PS5 in vertical stand position (last warning)

^^hey, some bot...well, dunno why so many fear LM, but I never had any problems so far, since about 2010. ok, maybe when cleaning off this stuff.

I had run even my CECH-L with custom heatsinks and LM for few years in vertically position and there was never any dripping off, so they must be using some custom mixed stuff (maybe to counter the alloy?), which is way too fluid.

I can only recommend using Gallinstan or maybe even pure Gallium, which only has to be warmed up to body temperature, to get it fluid

just forgot to add, you can insulate the surroundings with nail polish or similar, just to be safe!

Just like the PS3 Ylod being due to tokins, this also really turned out to be mass hysteria with a hint of fake news.

In the end vertical or not doesn't matter, some consoles had manufacturing defects that caused it to leak in whichever position it was in, vertical or horizontal. You cant prevent it if you were unlucky to have one.

Additionally people really seem to forget the scales, repair shops seeing "hundreds" of devices is nothing in the bucket of dozens of millions of devices... . The PS3+x360 situation was worse, i remember every corner store becoming a repair shop just to reflow them

This thread being dead is an example, the PS3 ylod thread is one of the most active on that sub forum, this thread here was almost on the second page when i opened it to reply

Anyway, my reminder was to see what would happen a year later, and yeah, it did not become another ylod/rlod situation.

People forget that nowadays consumer rights are stronger in a lot of the world, much stronger than back in 05.

Some countries have adopted mandatory 2 year warranties, and a lot of other countries require design defects to be covered in free extended warranties.

Companies cannot afford another ps3/360 nowadays, manufacturing defects are on a much lower % and scale, they just happen to spread easier due to the advance of social media

I couldn't believe sony, who designed the system to be vertical first, would not see this. especially on a console that had leaks about using liquid metal 2 years earlier than the launch date

So no "last warning" needed
