Lol I'll work on it, I also want to get another hard drive to do it again with so I'm sure it wasn't just a fluke but these drives are tough to find. I have saved everything and used a parts board to find alternate solder points for the modbo altho I'm not really sure if they should be used since it's a via that it broken could cause more issues.
I'll get to a write up when I can verify what I've done can be repeated lol or if someone has the parts and wants to try it. I may also dig out my old jtag kits and dump the firmware on the drives and see what I can find as far as what enables the drives in the psx (hopefully just a simple security sector similar to 360 hard drives). I'm just surprised I was able to also restore the dvr functionality.
Also is 1.31 the latest version for a 5000?
If anyone has a desr 5/7000 with a dead drive and a scph 20401 and would like to test it out let me know lol.
