Hi all
I've been reading about making a pkg.
I've been trying to make apkg from a ps 1 game.
The game is chase the express. Or some call it nuclear dawn covert ops for ps 1.
Now it's a 2 disk game and I've got it in Afew formats.
Pbp
bin and cue
And eboot
Now I want it as as pkg to install onto rebut 4.81.
I've managed to get the eboot and get the the part where it converts from folder game to pkg.
Then I use true ancestor to sign it.
And it makes a pkg signed.
I then put this on a usb drive then go to ps3 install package file it installs then I load it and then I'll get across black screen and ps3 freezes or it boots me back to xmb.
Am I going wrong somewhere or is this game not possible to turn into a pkg file.
Just want easy pkg file as u can't get the multi disk swap working in multiman or webmod
Any help would be appreciated thanks

Hi thanks for replyPBP file = EBOOT, with that format swapping discs wont be a problem so no need for pkg conversion for that reason. If you still want to convert the game to a pkg follow this guide, it's for HAN users but should do the trick for you (i dont know if the resigning part does apply for you as a rebug user).

Hi
thanks for reply
install from psn" inside PKG manager ?? Where is this option.
I've done them steps 1 to 5 it installs but get a black screen when trying to play it.
Hi thanks for reply
I need to change it to pkg as ps3 slim doesn't read Pbp or eboot for psx they don't show up. And for the Han I've tried that but my ps3 freezes when I click on enable pkg.
Do I need to get my idps and act.dat before I try to enable the pkg.
And also I'm on cfw rebug is it ok to use the Han exploit aswell and this will put the enable Han on my xmb is it ok to have both
I've been reading about Han and some say there's no need for it if your already on cfw.I've 1 han and 1 cfw console, so i'm dont know anything about using han on cfw. More info on HAN installation here:

I just want this ps1 game converted to pkg as it's 2 disks and I can't seem to get the option to change disks if I play it through multiman or irisman
I've followed the steps to convert it but get black screen
installing the ReactPSN homebrew (yep, another package), copying the licenses (RAP, RIF, EDAT) to an "exdata" folder of a FAT32 hard drive
PSN Patch is much quicker and easier than ReActPSN, and you don't have to create another user to do it, the licences files are stored the users extdata folder on there profile of the console when there are installed.
Thanks for all the info I did install it all ok but it doesn't need react psn does it as it's it's a ps1 game not from the store.
It's a ps1 game from my physical copy. And I've also got it also a Pbp file. Doesn't have a rap or rif file
But it does have an edat file does this have to go in the exdata folder. Is this why I'm getting the black screen and it has to be activated with reactpsn

Thanks for all the info
good to know, thnx!

But it does have an edat file does this have to go in the exdata folder
Normally you find edats in the game install data folder on PS3. PSN Patch would import these edats and put them where they belong, sorry for the bit confusion. The Rap is used to activate the edat.
I'm not 100% sure how they are used in PS1 games as all my PS1 games are in BIN/CUE format on my PS3. So they don't ever black screen.
For ps1 backups they need to be in the USRDIR folder of the game, so in his case /dev_hdd0/game/SCES02812/USRDIR
I'll check again and try a different rip I've read a lot of tutorials thanks for your input I'll report back thanksgood to know, thnx!
Ok, first...please consider using the question mark, i dont know what's a statement and what not.
When you install a PKG it wil create a rif file for that package on your system based on user and console info.
When you're converting an EBOOT backup to PKG it will also need a rif file on your system, otherwise it's not activated for use. I really suggest you read the linked tutorials once again and finish all the steps, otherwise you'll keep getting a blackscreen.
Also from my experience, if the ps3 doesn't give you an error when you start a ps1 backup but just a blackscreen it's either a corrupt EBOOT or i made a mistake during the pkg conversion.
hi all well ive followed the video and it didnt work and ive also followed the link up above from that tutorial in the signed pkg wont even install followed it step by step dont kn ow why it wont work
