Yeah, well at least I had the latest version of the Ultimate Toolbox on my PC before this debacle still and at least made a temporary mirror for the pkg

I didn't know that it's not supported in 4.89, however i have the toolbox already in 4.88 before the new update released, and i updated to 4.89 Evilnat and the toolbox is still working without any problems.
Should i uninstall it to prevent problems in the future or it's fine?

Most of it will still work fine, stuff like waves, coldboot logos etc. However during set up it replaces some RCO files, on 4.89 this will lead to some misaligned text and graphical issues. If you are not experiencing any issues its ok to keep using it. Worst case, if you find bugs that annoy you too much, you would just need to reinstall CFW at some point.

Hello, I was just wondering has anyone got the ultimate toolbox to not freeze when rebug 4.84 has been switched to dex mode. I did have quite a few changes installed with the ultimate toolbox and it always froze on start up. I did change to a blank hdd and converted back to cex kernel and it starts up fine now with the old hdd.

Some rco mods (system_plugin, impose, webbrowser, premo and etc) will not work on 4.89 due to the recent changes in the layout files and there is no point to update them yet because Sony will need to fix some layout mistakes in the next version, so the rcos would need to be updated again.

Deixa eu ver se entendi... Não vai ter um update do Ultimate Tool Box pra 4.89 porque como a versão do sistema teve uns bugs possivelmente a Sony vai lançar uma nova System Update para correção, logo vão aguardar essa nova para atualizar o UTB, certo?
Mas eu ainda sim consigo instalar? Uso o UTB mais como personalização... Trocar as waves, as cores, o Cooldbot de inicio do sistema porque o ovo do HEN é triste... kkk''
Acha recomendável instalar sendo só por isso? Ou é melhor esperar a nova atualização?

Let me see if I get it, There's no point to update the UTB becuse the 4.89 Update System came with some bugs and issues so Sony probably will release a new System Update soon and then will wait until to update UTB, right?
But I can install it anyway? I use the UTB most for customize, waves, colors, coolbot logo because HENs logo is very ugly…

You wont be able to enable HEN if you install this on 4.89. Well you could use the web browser to access an online HEN enabler URL if you are stuck.
Sony are going to keep releasing more PS3 firmware "updates" with less and less features, as time goes on I expect them to remove stuff like What's New, PS+ features, PS Store access etc. Really the sweet spot is like 4.84, this has best compatibility with Homebrew (some devs have retired since), latest HEN is available, latest Cobra is available, DEX PUP/file are available, HAN exploits for fun with 4.82 webkit, basically everything will work with it. The ability to enable What's New offline is handy too (4.83 and higher only).
As they remove features they will make larger changes to rcos like they did with 4.89, this will mean any rco mods going forward will become firmware dependent which introduces a load of problems, most of all breaking compatibility with everything released over the last 5+ years.
For me when "updating" actually means "downdating" and removing features it's not worth it anymore.

I don't really have any plans to no. Making different versions of this to suit different firmware revisions is not something I want to get into, it's just too big. Sony are not going to add anything new anymore so I plan to stay on 4.88.
When updates become downgrades I am out.
