PS3 Remarry Drive on 4.88 failed! Any idea?

Hi everyone,
I've recently bought a Phat PS3 with a defective disc drive, got it for just 15€.
I purchased a new disc drive because I didn't have the expertise/nerves to swap the laser.
After installing the new drive with the old controller board the PS3 still refused to play anything, so I determined that the controller board was the actual problem.
I now tried to remarry the new drive with its original controller board onto the PS3 using the second method of this otherwise very helpful thread:

The EID Root Key Dumper failed on the first attempt, but then worked the second time I tried.
Now I'm in Factory Service Mode and I get "CEX_drive_init_sblock() failed" and "CEX_drive_init() failed"
Now the thread said that that could happen and that it might actually have worked, but it didn't.
After leaving FSM I still can't read disc's.

Anyone got an idea what to do?

You have to disable cobra. Most recent evilnat cfw does have a toggle for it under custom firmware tools. I had the same issue with a semi bc cechc01 and spent countless hours and remember it succeeded the remarrying after cobra was disabled.
