PS3HEN replace category_game.xml problems, can you help me?

I have a slim ps3 with a broken reader (no bd)

I have installed 4.86 hfw and 3.01 hen, licenses, etc.

but I cannot change the category_game.xml file for a modified one, since the reader is broken and the xml replacer from the web is not compatible with 4.86.

Nor does any manager work (webman, multiman, etc)

Is there any way to replace the category_game.xml currently in my situation?

do you have webman installed? if so you can use ftp

Why does webman not work?

Hmm... due to you cant run the installer due to no bd?


Hmm... there would be a workaround, you could install webman via pkg instead. plugins should still run on no bd systems.

webman, irisman and multiman don´t start. Shows black screen and i have to power off the ps3

a solution is: xml replacer in pkg? xml replacer online for 4.86?
 
Yes, you can install xmls to flash in pkg when HEN is enabled.

You can also install webMAN sprx and boot_plugins.txt in a pkg, then you will have FTP access to the console and you can do anything.


Try install this pkg, it should give you FTP access at least.

Use it at your own risk.

this console is 2004a, I can install cfw from 4.86? If i can, I would install cfw no-bd and i can play anything.

^Try this CFW, I patched it to work on NoBD consoles. I highly recommend disabling COBRA after installing then use IRISMAN to play games. Because A lot of things are limited. Of course you will need to use bgtoolset to patch your flash memory to install CFW.

Code: 
ISO playback
USB storage media for backup games, meaning games would only run either via PKG installation or internal source.
PS2 emulation and so on.

This is the main reason why I do not support NoBD, I highly recommend HW solution (repair the BD logic board)
