@STLcardsWS
Hmmm, you know what, after thinking about this for a while now, maybe she is on to something here...
...and Im positive she doesnt understand exactly what you really want to know here, so Ill give it a shot...
Cards, do you consider every-person that "follows" YOU "
a friend" ?
Certainly NOT.
After all, you did NOT even have "
a choice" that they appear as your follower (nor do you follow-them in-return).

Its not like they actually sent you a request for approval, which adds BOTH of your names to each-others-accounts.
What about the Developers whom get followed by brand-new members (the very-same-day they join up) after a new-release?
The Dev-example has never even heard of them, nor seen their postings and know their personality.
Im sure they dont consider the 100 new-followers as friends, do they (
Opinions welcome Devs)?
I think she explained the differences pretty-well (and accurately), right here:
I use our current-follow-system exactly as quoted-above, basically to get Alerts I may otherwise miss.
Also, (using myself as an example here) just because I follow someone, does NOT imply we are friends...
Perhaps Im just using it to just watch their postings for my Moderation-Duties.

EG
Follow / Un-follow.
If Im following someone, more than likely, something they said/released probably interested me...
BUT, I never thought it implied any-sort-of-friendship (nor would I want it too, as I have absolutely-no-choice in whom follows-me).
We dont even have a way to remove them from our followers list, you know like when they act crazy suddenly or turn out to be imposters (they are still there, attached to your profile,
without consent
LMFAO!)
The feature is something our Site/Community seems to be lacking, and may even create a bit of excitement for some on here.
Honestly, I wouldnt mind knowing whom truly considers me a friend here (or wants to know me better), and actually takes 1-second to even send me a Friend-Request.
@samet2012
Personally IMO, I think it is a fantastic suggestion!

As I take pride in my "Friends-Lists" elsewhere (here I simply dont have that option).

Well done.
Friends-List is Uni-Approved!
