RetroArch CE (Unofficial - Community Edition)

PS3 RetroArch CE (Unofficial - Community Edition) Beta 4

Thank you Mr Aldo! sorry maybe I'll wait for a release... I downloaded the PS3HEN.BIN but I don't know what to do next to update HEN manually... I've done some research and I found the file in dev_flash path but it's not writable.

dev_flash is a read-only device. /dev_blind or /dev_rewrite are the writable mount points for dev_flash.

@aldostools why if i use mamba8.4E bin i get blackscreen? i have slim cfw.
your installer works and use 8.4C
i have a little bug on txt with two path identical 1 after the second

mamba_489C.bin is for CEX models (retail)
mamba_489D.bin is for DEX models (debug)
mamba_489E.bin is for DECR models (reference tool)

The txt file should have only 1 line with the full path to the payload

Which are the benefits of updating HEN to that PS3MAPI build 0x124, beyond that Dynarec for 32X games? Or it's only to play 32X games?

Only DosBox-svn works.

I asked this (about Dosbox Pure, because of its save state feature) in august 2021, and I guess that Dosbox Pure still can't be ported to PS3 if it's not already included, but I just want to be sure. I'm going to play two Dos games, but I need save states. If Dosbox Pure still doesn't work in PS3, I will use it in my PC, but it hurts me usign my high-end PC to play 30 years old games:ambivalence:

sorry my dummy question, i read that retroarch could emulate games for dreamcast, is possibile also with this ps3 version retroarch?
there are any others way to emulate dreamcast?

Is there a way to launch Scummvm games directly from Retroarch menu? Or better: directly from xmb with a mounted rom with Webman (even It seems that Webman does not detect those . scummvm files as a valid extension).

I've tried to do what is explained in the libretro docs, and created those .scummvm files inside games folders, and tried to launch from those files from Retroarch menu, but It doesn't work, It hangs Retroarch:

Hello everyone just wanted to say thank you to everyone involved in this awesome project for the ps3 ... I want to start dabbling into mame but I want to try & get the best arcade experience possible while playing it !! While saying this I understand there's certain games that aren't capable of running on the ps3 with that being said there's plenty to chose from throughout the 40 or so plus years of arcade games .. I want to know where I would need to put samples for qbert, zaxxon etc & can I also add artwork for games like space invaders & if so where would it go in retroarch ?? Thank you for your time sincerely Beefrh

You can start here:

There's a Neo Geo port of The Eye of Typhoon that won't boot at all on FinalBurn Neo even though other people have stated it runs alright on it. I even tried the other MAME cores to no avail plus even changing the file names to .rom instead of .bin didn't help at all.

You should check file crc, not filename.
Use a dat file and a rommanager to correct your romset.

Hi everyone, I have just installed RetroArch on my OS3 but I find the audio to be kind of scratchy/noisy. Almost like an "exploded" speaker if I could compare. I have tried both analog and hdmi outputs, pal and ntsc roms but no difference.
I also have made few changes in latency and frame delay but same results.
Is it a common thing in the ps3 version of RA?

Not normal, but audio will vary from emulator to emulator (cores) used in RetroArch, so be sure its just not a core related problem.
If you do not hear it on other cores you know its the core and not any other issue like the app your hardware or something like that.
but RetroArch is essentially 70+ apps into one as each core will have a different experience.
