PS3HEN RetroArch hangs and the screen goes black

Last time I've used RetroArch I loaded some core which crashed the entire emulator, every time I relaunch RetroArch it hangs again, like it always load the buggy core or something. Reinstall did not helped, so where are RetroArch's configuration files located in?

My firmware is HFW 4.89.1 with PS3HEN 3.1.1.

You need to uninstall it before installing it again because the config files are not deleted when you perform a new installation (on top of the old installation)
The config files are located in the installation path, as far i remember have .cfg extension, there are a couple (salamander.cfg and other .cfg file next to it), delete them and reboot, there is no need to install it again

I'm having the same problem, goes to Home Screen when I try to select it

I have a similar issue. When I uninstall and reinstall retroarch I can run an NES rom one time. Then if I close the game and try again I get the black screen and sent back to the XMB on subsequent attempts.

If I delete the cfg and salamader.cfg files after the problem starts, that does not resolve the issue. It seems like only a complete uninstall and reinstall of the retroarch PKG file works.

Would love to find a solution to make this more stable. Reinstalling everything every time I want to load a game is obviously a bit too much.

If you're use RetroArch CE directly, try selecting a different NES emulator: fceummm, nestopia, quicknes

Also you could try copying the NES rom to /dev_hdd0/ROMS/NES, scan the games and launch it using webMAN MOD.

If you have webMAN MOD installed, select manual mode for the fan controller in /setup.ps3. There's a known issue with the dynamic fan controller that causes a black screen when a game is launched on HEN.

Thanks for the replay and your help. I'm actually running MultiMan and EvilNat. Do you think the manual fan issue could also be something on this configuration as well?
