@Larry Kuzniak If you have original PS3MCA, try below stuff. It is for Linux (eg. Mint with Cinnamon), untested but should work (I don't have PS3MCA to check). It install FMCB v1.966 for all models, with BDM Assault, wLE, and including HDD modules for protokernels.
Remember that you must find ps3mca tool released by Jimmikaelkael in ancient times (MD5 of Linux executable: 47277a60588e8e2a0168d581ad0a5776). Rename "ps3mca-tool" to "PS3MCA Tool.elf" and change attribute to executable (right mouse button on file, check checkbox executing). I cannot add it to archive because contains Magic Gate keys.
After that, connect PS2MC into original PS3MCA and have hope that modern libusb will recognize device.
Only then my script will work.
PS: It will create card image before format it. If you have some saves which want keep, copy that file into safe place because after turning computer off or reset, in live session will be wipeout because all is placed in RAMdisk.
Another option, to avoid complications and stuff.
Is to just install kernel patches into their appropriate paths and then install wLaunchELF 4.43x_isr as system update
Boot wLaunchELF from the console and perform the installation FROM the console
I can make a script...can you please elaborate on this? I'm new to the PS2 scene. I have a lot of knowledge of Dreamcast stuff, but not PS2.
I've read about needing kernel patches, but I've not found any more information regarding them.
Can you give me a run down on how to perform what you mentioned in the post?
I can make a script...
It should work from windows 10/11
Seems like you have hacked OSDSYS disabled on config. Hold START to fire the configurator appOk, I am at a standstill. I can get the Freemcboot splash screen, but the Browser is the stock PS2 Browser.
If I hold R1 during boot, it loads LaunchELF. But I don't know where to go from there. It does see my external HDD, but it doesn't see any games on it. Any suggestions?
I will try that with the 1.953 version. ThanksSeems like you have hacked OSDSYS disabled on config. Hold START to fire the configurator app
