PS3 Sixaxis won't connect after cleaning

Hi all,

gave my sixaxis controller a clean and after reassembly, it won't connect.

Symptoms:
When wireless, pressing PS button does nothing.
When wireless, pressing reset button does nothing.

When wired to PS3, slow blinking 4 lights appear. Pressing PS button does nothing. Pressing reset button makes the blinking stop, letting go of reset button resumes blinking.

I checked the caps on the board, all seems good.
Battery has 4.1v in it
Manually shorting the PS button contacts does nothing.

One thing I noticed is that the negative leg of the battery port shorts to GND, not sure if that is normal or not.
Not sure what else to check at this point.

Did you miss the black sponge holding down the conductive film?

Thanks for the suggestion. I don't think I have that part. I just tried reassembling it now and it works as normal. I have no idea what is different this time. Maybe reseeding the flex-pcb did the trick? Anyway, it works fine now, wired and wireless.
