The topic is as much to do with Rebug as it was with your original issue, which was solved in the first few replies anyway. The later comments are related to this original issue since Rebug (which you mentioned trying to install in your original post) has checks to prevent the PS3 updating from a BD game disc, unlike the CFW you installed.

Mods will decide if/when the thread gets out of hand with off topic posts, but you can unwatch the thread if you don't want to keep receiving notifications of new posts.
