Yeah that's a bug in the .bat file, it doesn't read the folder if it's not B__S (even though B__M is possible).
I made a modified version that should work with all games and doesn't make the extra useless pkg.

Okay, I've figured it out, here's how to do it:

First you need to "prepare" the game like you would for backup injection using something like CFW2OFW Helper. This should give you 2 folders, one starting with BL/BC (BLUS, etc) and one starting with NP (NPUB, etc).
Then you need to download this tool, place the BL/BC+NP folders in the same folder as the .bat, and run the .bat.
This should make 3 pkgs, all starting with 000000-NP. Run these 3 pkgs through ps3xploit_rifgen_edatresign.exe to obtain _signed.pkg versions. Install all 3 of these on your PS3 without Debug PKG enabled. You should now be able to play!

Ok, its working. If I understand correctly, only CFW2OFW compatibile backups on the list will work with that method righ? Backups without update/patch wont work at all?

Installing PS3_GAME without updates is not possible and will never be possible with this exploit.
If a game is disc-only and has no updates, you cannot play it.

I think it is hard to say which ps3_game will work with this method some games might work i tried once everything done but there is a no play button option in the xmb rather shows button search internet when i press trangle middle of the game icon in xmb

I have the two BLES and NPEB folders, i run the bat file and the installation begins normally but then in the end it gives me NPEBXXXXX-LIC-LIC-LIC Game and then it says param sfo is required. i'll attach a photo

I understand that the CFW2OFW only works for games with update/patch but games like no more heroes that has update, I could not run on the CFW2OFW

This was my mistake, accidentally added a word that shouldn't be there, redownload and it should work.
Remember to delete any extra -LIC folders it might have created.

Okay, I'm having issues to play BigLittlePlanet3 with this method unfortunately.
-From a folder containing PS3_GAME of BigLittlePlanet 3's backup, I've launched CFW2OFW.
-It gave me 2 folders: BCES01663 and NPEA01663
- I've used make-backup-pkg modified by @Bakugo - it found 5gb of updates - Everything done
- I've got 3 PKGs: GAME, PATCH and LIC
- I've signed them into the folder containing my ACT/IDPS dump with ps3xploit_rifgen_edatresign.exe
- I've renamed the new signed PKGs and sent them to the PS3 via webserver.
- I've activated HAN, copied and installed the PKGs (first the game, after patch and LIC at the end)
Now, when I try to launch the game, it says "Insert the DISC and try again" (8001003E error)
I've also tried to edit PARAM.SFO before CFW2OFW to make the category HG. I've tried it twice already. May anyone help me with this? Thank you.

I don't think account activation , dumping act.dat and ipds are required for this method but on the other side it requires a whole lot more steps to install pkg . Is there any way to split the pkg files ? Hoping for a software that does all these steps ( convert retail to inject , then to pkg , resign pkg , split pkg )

You're right, it's not necessary to dump or inject anything for this method. You don't even need to run HAN Enabler to play games installed with this, since this is just an alternate version of the old backup injection method.
You cannot split the pkg files, any ones larger than 4gb will need to be installed via network (guides for this can be found in other threads).

but you need pkgview and param.sfo editor, search it


extract it, goto the folder PS3 CONVERTER BY ALEX, paste the PS3_GAME only, open convert.bat, in the cmd type the titleid but in psn style
example
BLUSXXXXXX change to NPUBXXXXXXX
BLESXXXXXX change to NPEBXXXXXXX


wait for complete,now from the converted folder, open the param.sfo edit it change the game type from blue disc game to hard drive game, also change the gameid to psn style

now download the game's update via ***PlayStation Store***,then open the pkg with pkgview and goto the folder USRDIR, extract only the eboot.bin from the last update and paste it in the USRDIR of the converted folder

now extrac the trueancestor pkg repacker and paste the whole converted folder to game folder of the program (if game folder doesnt appear, open the program and paste it, open truancestor type 1,select the game folder, and repack it, now the game have its own pkg installer

now install the program folder from the every program .rar you downloader, and extract the CREATE_PKG.rar and now you need to create the pkg of the lic.dat (because trueancestor doesnt create pkg with lic.dat)


create new folder with the gameid (original) like BLESXXXXXX or BLUSXXXXXX, go to the converted folder (not the pkg) and copy the root folder, but except the USRDIR folder, paste it in the new folder and open the param.sfo of the new folder, now change the gameid back to the original NPEB/NPUB to BLES/BLUS, and the game type to bluedisc game, save and copy everything inside from the new folder to the pkg folder of CREATE_PKG program, now open create_pkg.bat, and in the same folder you have the licdir's pkg

NOW IN PS3, install it first the original game's update, and goto the exploit and enable debug pkg, install the game, and the licdir pkg, if your game runs, congratulations you converted succefully!
